Why Do Abortion Activists Hate Pregnancy Centers?

While hardly flush, not so long ago Pregnancy Help Centers (PHCs) operated on shoestring budgets, manned—actually womaned—by volunteers deeply committed to helping young girls who were unexpectedly pregnant and frightened out of their minds. I volunteered at what were then called Crisis Pregnancy Centers for just a time or two and felt utterly overwhelmed. This experience made me appreciate the saintly women who volunteered there day in and day out, year in and year out, even more.

Needless to say, but I will anyway, the Abortion Industry and their endless list of apologists loathe PHCs. As I read their accounts, clearly they hate them even more, now that on July 4th, President Trump signed a bill that partially defunded “big abortion” for one year.

What also drives the likes of Planned Parenthood out of their collective minds is the assertion than anyone can duplicate their non-abortion services (which have steadily gone down and down). PPFA is, so we’re told, indispensable.

So when the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) issued an analysis stating that

Federally qualified health centers, rural health clinics, and doctor’s offices provide comprehensive health care Planned Parenthood doesn’t.

Pregnancy resource centers help by offering free assistance, including ultrasounds, STI tests, material resources and counseling.

States like Iowa, Kansas, and Texas that have previously defunded Planned Parenthood from state family planning programs show that Planned Parenthood can be replaced.

It drove the usual suspects berserk.

CLI’s stable of scholars was allegedly producing substandard work, PHCs were “unregulated” and swimming in money, and staffed by women who use most of the money on “staff salaries” and “travel.”

But, these accounts are just warming up, their vitriol in its earliest stage.

Not only that, PHCs (“fake clinics”) “lie” to women, a two-fer for the abortion crowd. One, lying is terrible on its face. Two, the so-called “lie” is that women who take the abortion pill and change their minds, can in many cases save their babies by “abortion pill reversal.”

Of course, that in itself is a lie. Thousands of babies have been saved.

I could go on but you get the point. And something else needs to be emphasized.

When you read comments on pro-abortion sites bashing PHCs, what jumps out at you is the contempt, the animosity, and the antagonism—the sheer hatred—toward religion which often motivates volunteers.

Summary? It’s always good to know what motivates the enemies of unborn children. It will inspire you.
