Trump Jokes On Surprise Strikes With Japan PM [WATCH]

President Donald Trump cracked a historical joke Thursday that turned heads — and briefly froze the room.

Meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in the Oval Office, Trump was asked why the United States did not notify Tokyo ahead of its strikes on Iran.

“We went in very hard. We didn’t tell anybody about it because we wanted surprise,” Trump said. “Who knows better about surprise than Japan? Why didn’t you tell me about Pearl Harbor?”

The line drew laughter from some reporters in the room.
