Charlie Kirk and the conversation we need to have

Everybody has heard and read about the assassination of conservative Christian activist Kirk, but the brutal murder of a Ukrainian immigrant, Iryna Zarutska, went all but unreported until video of the actual crime was released. Ms. Zarutska was killed on a North Carolina train by a violent, mentally ill man with a long rap sheet. Why do judges keep putting violent offenders back out on the streets? The entertainment industry must be asked whether excessive brutality and violence in television, movies, and video games have so desensitized people that they’ll contentedly record a girl’s last breaths on their phone.
