As I’ve been writing here for years, the Swamp Republicans are every bit as dangerous as the Democrats — and in some ways worse, just like a squatter who lives in your house, eats out of your fridge, and crawls into your bed is worse than a hateful neighbor. I made Right Wing Watch last week for pointing out that Senators Lindsay Graham and John McCain were in on the Russia Collusion hoax.
Now General Mike Flynn is calling for Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard to summon former Vice President Mike Pence to testify before Congress about his alleged role in efforts to oust President Donald Trump by using the 25th Amendment.
But the blockbuster news on this front comes courtesy of Project Veritas:
A whistleblower, currently under indictment by the U.S. Department of Justice and granted political asylum in an undisclosed foreign country, has provided Project Veritas with explosive evidence alleging secret meetings orchestrated by former U.S. Attorney General William P. Barr, media figure Armstrong Williams, and other prominent Washington, D.C., insiders to plan the prosecution of President Donald Trump, his allies, and January 6 defendants.
Patrícia Lélis, hired in 2021 by Armstrong Williams’ media company, Howard Stirk Holdings, claims she attended dozens of meetings where Barr and others devised legal strategies to target Trump supporters and block his political comeback. She provided Project Veritas with extensive handwritten notes and photos documenting these secret discussions, which took place from 2021-2023.
Lélis detailed a September 13, 2021, meeting involving herself, Armstrong Williams, CNN commentator Shermichael Singleton, and former Attorney General William P. Barr, which focused on strategizing for the newly formed January 6th Committee. “The investigation will be focused on people close to Trump and make efforts to formally prosecute these people,” Lélis wrote.
This rabbit hole seems very deep and dark. Let’s see what Gabbard and the rest of Trump’s team find at its bottom.
Canada’s Spiral Into Insanity Continues
There isn’t even a virus to panic over, but that won’t prevent Canadian bureaucrats from trying to lock down their fellow citizens. This time it’s a “climate lockdown” in the province of Nova Scotia after several weeks of dry weather. Nova Scotians face a fine of more than $25,000 if they walk in the woods, allegedly to reduce the likelihood of wildfires.

The Toronto Sun reported on a Canadian Air Force veteran, Jeff Evely, who defied the blanket ban:
On his X account, he posted a video of himself on his own property and then later “at the ministry office eight minutes from my house” near Sydney, Nova Scotia, where he gave a heads up to the provincial environmental officers that he was going to go into the woods across from their building on Friday.
They warned Evely not to do it or he would be fined.
He did it and they gave him a ticket for $28,872.50.
“Seems there are taxes and fees and victim surcharges,” Evely said with a chuckle.

The Sun comments, dryly:
The Nova Scotia government’s “stay out of the woods order” comes across to many as Orwellian.
There was no order to not sell matches or lighters or ban chainsaws or cooking stoves or to throw the book at actual arsonists with stiffer sentences.
Just a sweeping ban on law-abiding people and their movements.
Canada’s government isn’t backing down, but doubling down, expanding the ban to other provinces and imposing harsher penalties:
Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador announces 6 month prison time and increased fines of $55k to $100k from $75 for residents of the province who break a fire ban:

Catholic Bishop Compares ICE Officers to Slave Catchers and Nazi War Criminals
Last week, I wrote about U.S. Catholic bishops who oppose any control on U.S. borders, and asked if any of them would have the nerve to claim outright that our immigration laws are intrinsically evil, like laws supporting slavery or genocide. Well, I’m sure they don’t read The Stream, but one of them de facto called my bluff. Breitbart reports that Mark Brennan, bishop of Wheeling-Charleston in West Virginia, wrote to Catholics in his diocese, telling them that ICE officials
cannot escape personal responsibility for an unjust action with the excuse that it was ordered by their superiors. That defense was not allowed during the Nuremberg trials of Nazi war criminals at the end of World War II. The judges held that a soldier, guard or official who authorized or engaged in gross violations of human rights was personally responsible for his acts.
We the people should also remember our history. The Fugitive Slave Act, passed by Congress as part of the Compromise of 1850 — an attempt to calm the tensions between slave states and free states — required not only local police but ordinary citizens to assist federal marshals in returning escaped slaves to their Southern masters or face heavy fines and jail time.
That’s a great way to calm tensions and defuse the threats of violence aimed at ICE officers — who increasingly have to mask their faces to do their jobs: compare them to the Nazis hanged at Nuremburg. What could possibly go wrong?
Catholic University Appoints Abortion Advocate ‘Distinguished Fellow’ to Mentor Students
Meanwhile, one of those post-Catholic universities that are a waste of time and tuition, the University of Scranton, has appointed former Senator Bob Casey Jr. (D-PA) as a “Distinguished Fellow in Public Service,” according to Gateway Pundit and The Pennsylvania Capitol Star. Casey will
mentor and guide students interested in pursuing careers in public service, advise the Center for Ethics and Excellence in Public Service on program initiatives, and share expertise with regional government entities through its outreach programs.
Casey seems like a strange choice as an authority on ethics for a Catholic university, since on Capitol Hill he was
what Politico described as “an increasingly reliable vote in support of abortion rights — scoring as high as 100 percent on NARAL Pro-Choice America’s vote tally in 2016 and 2017.”
The local Catholic bishop and the Society of Jesus have the authority to step in and reverse this decision, but don’t kid yourself — they’ll do nothing. Now, should the same university try to hire someone linked to Trump who supports deporting illegal aliens, administrators would be swamped with letters from clerics accusing them of compromising their Catholic mission.
Back in 2016, when Catholic broadcaster Laura Ingraham agreed to speak at a pro-life fundraiser in Yakima, Washington, the local bishop banned churches from advertising the event and told Catholics not to attend. His reason? Ingraham was “a strident opponent of many of the immigration positions held by the US bishops. As such, her visit to Yakima sends a profoundly mixed message to our community.”
Trump Declares Venezuelan Cartel Linked to U.S. Election Fraud “Global Terrorists”
Once again, Emerald Robinson of LindellTV breaks an important story: The drug cartel linked to the government of Venezuela faces stiff U.S. sanctions, even as the U.S. government has put out a bounty for the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. Bad as Maduro has been for Venezuelans, the story could have a major impact here in the U.S. Robinson claims that the same software used to steal past Venezuelan elections for Maduro may have been used in the corrupt 2020 election.

European Union Adopts Continent-Wide Censorship Laws
Apollo News reports that far-reaching, easily abused censorhip powers have just been granted to European Union governments — several of which, including Great Britain’s, have already been imprisoning political dissenters:
On Friday, the so-called “European Media Freedom Act” came into full force. This means that the entire regulation must be implemented in all 27 member states. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen praised the entry into force of the law on Friday on X. “A free and independent press is an essential pillar of our democracy. With our European Media Freedom Act, we want to improve their protection. This allows journalists to continue their important work safely and without disruption or intimidation.”
The EU praises itself for the fact that this regulation is supposed to strengthen source protection and journalism. Article 4, for example, states that journalists may not be pressured into revealing their sources through the use of spyware or arrests. However, the EU also allows exceptions to this prohibition: it states that arrests, sanctions or interceptions of journalists are permitted if it is “provided for by Union or national law” and “justified in the individual case by an overriding reason in the public interest and […] is proportionate”.
Remember that in multiple European countries, euthanasia is becoming a leading cause of death as governments execute the old and the sick to save their socialist health care systems. I’m a big fan of alternate history, such as The Man In the High Castle. What I’d really like to see is a show depicting a world where the Nazis really, really lost the war.
Along The Stream…
Later this morning, pastor and author Kyle Idleman explains the biblical practices that allow you to control your thoughts rather than passively be swept along into sin.
Brew a cup and take the time to read Joseph Mattera’s thoughtful “12 Connections Between Jesus and the Prophet Elijah in the Gospel of Mark.”
