President Donald Trump announced Friday that a suspect in the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was turned in by his own father, with law enforcement sources telling The Post the man is 22-year-old Utah resident Tyler Robinson.
“I think, with a high degree of certainty, we have him,” Trump said on Fox & Friends during a live interview from the network’s Manhattan studio, adding he was informed just minutes before going on air at 8 a.m.
“Somebody who was very close to him turned him in,” Trump continued, before revealing it was the suspect’s father who passed the information through “a minister who was involved with law enforcement.”
“I hope he’s going to be found guilty and I hope he gets the death penalty. What he did — Charlie Kirk was the finest person and he didn’t deserve this.”
