The Indian illegal-alien charged in the vehicular homicide of three motorists in California not only had a commercial driver’s license despite not speaking fluent English, but also had a REAL ID, which is not available to illegals.
Jashanpreet Singh, the beturbaned Third World Biden “migrant” who is charged with manslaughter while driving intoxicated, had both. He needed an interpreter in his first court hearing.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said that California ignored his order to enforce federal regulations regarding CDLs. On Friday, the department detailed the state’s refusal to keep Singh off the road in defiance of those regulations.

California Admits Error
Answering Fox News reporter Bill Melugin’s inquiry, the state admitted that it gave the REAL ID CDL to Singh because the federal government authorized it.
The state transportation agency claims that Singh received federal employment authorization that is valid until August 30, 2030.
“The DMV confirmed Mr. Jashanpreet Singh’s documents using the federal SAVE system,” the agency told Melugin. As well, “Singh’s commercial driver’s license is a federal REAL ID which he was entitled to receive given the federal government’s confirmation of his legal status,” the state continued. Thus, “California followed all federal and state laws in reviewing and granting him a California commercial driver’s license.”
SAVE is an online system that verifies “immigration status and U.S. citizenship of applicants seeking benefits or licenses,” its website says. However, SAVE “does not determine an applicant’s eligibility for a specific benefit or license.”
Continuing his X report, Melugin said he “asked them to clarify what they mean by the Feds’ confirmation of his legal status, as he is still in the U.S. illegally even if granted federal work authorization while his asylum case plays out.”
The answer appears to have been a canned reply, or something created by artificial intelligence that scraped the internet for state law.

GOP precinct chairman Sarah Fields, also an investigative journalist, published court records on X showing that Singh needed an interpreter when he pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter-DUI charge. The court document says “there is good cause” to appoint an interpreter, which strongly suggests that Singh cannot read or speak English fluently, a federal requirement for obtaining a CDL.

Ignoring Federal Orders
“California upgraded this killer’s license LAST WEEK when my stricter rules were already in place!” Duffy wrote on X. “They ignored my emergency action and now three people are dead.”
On October 15, the Transportation Department announced that California would lose $40 million in federal funding from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) because it is not enforcing federal regulations that truck drivers pass an English proficiency test to receive a commercial driver’s license. Other states face the same penalty.
On September 26, after a triple fatality in Florida in which an Indian illegal truck driver was also involved, Duffy ordered that “non-citizens will not be eligible for a non-domiciled CDL unless they meet a much stricter set of rules.” Those include “an employment-based visa and undergoing a mandatory federal immigration status check using the SAVE system.”
A non-domiciled CDL is given to someone who lives in another state or country. “In California alone, more than 25% of non-domiciled CDLs reviewed were improperly issued,” the department reported at the time.
Also on September 26, by letter, the FMCSA gave California 30 days “to audit … its CDL issuance practices and procedures and immediately void or rescind all unexpired, noncompliant non-domiciled CDLs.”
Duffy’s order required three actions:
• Pause issuance of non-domiciled CDLs
• Identify all unexpired non-domiciled CDLs that fail to comply with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations
• Revoke and reissue all noncompliant non-domiciled CDLs if they comply with the new federal requirements

California did the opposite for Singh, the department reported. Instead of taking him off the road, it upgraded his license.
As for California’s claims to Melugin, even if the federal government authorized Singh’s employment, he would still be ineligible for a REAL ID because of his immigration status. Or so says the website of the Transportation Security Administration:
Noncitizens lawfully admitted for permanent or temporary residence, noncitizens with conditional permanent resident status, noncitizens with an approved application for asylum, and noncitizens who have entered the United States as refugees are eligible for a full-term REAL ID license or identification card.
He was ineligible for a CDL because he cannot, as a request for an interpreter in court proves, understand English.
The Wreck
Video from Singh’s truck shows the terrifying crash on 10 Freeway in Ontario, California.
The Biden “migrant’s” 18-wheeler plowed into a white SUV, then into a white work pickup, then into another 18-wheeler, then, in flames, careened to the right and smashed into yet another semi on the side of the highway.
Killed in the wreck were former Pomona High School assistant basketball coach Clarence Nelson and his wife, Lisa, and another unfortunate victim.

KCRA3 in Yuba City, where Singh was living illegally, reported that Singh is in jail with no bail, with hearings set for November 4 and November 6.
“According to the San Bernardino County DA, Singh has no prior traffic violations or criminal history,” the station reported:
“He has a common name, and online there has been incorrect information regarding the defendant’s prior criminal history,” the DA said.
The DMV told the station the same story that Melugin heard:
The state does not determine commercial driver’s license eligibility. The federal government approves and renews all federal employment authorization documents that [allow] individuals to work and obtain commercial driver’s licenses.
Again, regardless of employment authorization, Singh was not eligible for a CDL or a REAL ID.
