On Monday, the Vatican released the itinerary of Leo’s November 27th through December 2nd Apostolic Journey to Turkey and Lebanon. The trip will begin Ankara, Turkey, and will be highlighted by a visit with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. On the 29th, Pope Leo will visit Istanbul to meet with His Holiness Bartholomew I and tour İznik, site of the Council of Nicaea, in recognition of the Council’s 1700th anniversary. Leo will then head to Beirut for two days of meetings and prayers, including at the tomb of St. Charbel Maklūf.
