Remember when Establishment conservatives such as David French were echoing Joe Biden, warning that President Donald Trump and his MAGA movement were somehow extremists, who violated traditional norms of civic peace and decency? It’s certain that those norms were quickly banished in Trump’s era, but which political faction shattered the civil peace?
No one can point to any genuinely authoritarian actions on the part of Trump, whose removals of illegal aliens is slower and less intensive than what Barack Obama enacted in office. Trump hasn’t ordered any drone strikes killing U.S. citizens — that was also unique to Obama. Nor did Trump wield federal law enforcement agencies to target political enemies — except those who’d already used lawfare and malicious prosecution to persecute conservatives and Christians.
But the climate in our country is more toxic and divisive than it has been since the Vietnam War. That’s not because Trump’s actions have been outside of presidential norms, but because his political enemies decided on election night 2016 to treat him and his supporters like Nazis, and don the mantle of the “Resistance.” You see, Barack Obama’s election was meant (in his own words) to “fundamentally transform” America. To redeem it, if you will, from its foul and immoral heritage, and render it (again in Obama’s words) a “normal country,” like … Belgium.
So the Americans who voted for Donald Trump had no right to do so, and their decision must be reversed — by any means necessary, including fake impeachments, false charges of Russian collusion, and the abuse of mail-in ballots and voting machines. Those who questioned such interventions must be prosecuted — as the Arctic Frost investigation launched by Jack Smith did, bugging the phones and ransacking the records of dozens of members of Congress, and every major conservative organization in the country.
What a pity Speaker Mike Johnson so far has been drowned out by area crickets on the weaponization of the FBI against his colleagues, as The Federalist reports:
House Speaker Mike Johnson is noticeably silent on whether there will be House hearings and impeachment proceedings following bombshell revelations in the Arctic Frost scandal.
Senate Republicans revealed Wednesday that the DOJ and FBI under then-President Joe Biden compiled what’s being described as an “enemies list” of Republicans. It was also revealed that the Biden administration seized the phone records of several high-ranking Republicans as part of its “get-Trump” lawfare….
Several Republicans have since called for hearings and potential impeachment proceedings against those involved, but inquiries to Johnson about these potential efforts went unanswered.
Once Trump, after beating stitched-together prosecutions and dodging literal bullets, returned to office then it was acceptable to use whatever levers of power still remained in the reach of the Left to cripple him in office — for instance, dozens of lawless injunctions by federal judges stripping the executive branch of government of its constitutional powers. Where that failed, state and city governments would refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement, treating ICE officers the way Confederate governors treated the soldiers at Fort Sumter in 1861.
In the wake of Charlies Kirk’s murder, the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, even painted an assassination target on White House aide Stephen Miller by describing him as a “fascist.” Leftists carpeted Miller’s neighborhood with fliers denouncing him and announcing his home address.
In light of all this sedition, are we really surprised that key members of Trump’s team are worried about their safety? Armed Forces Press reports:
As violence and threats emerge from the Marxist left, the typical end-game of a Marxist revolution, Trump officials are taking cover for security and privacy.
Civil unrest is becoming a daily issue across the nation as those wishing to destroy our society move into their violent phase and their masks come off and their real intentions become visible.
Stephen Miller, Marco Rubio, Kristi Noem, and others have taken over homes that until recently housed senior officers, writes The Atlantic.
Stephen Miller soon joined a growing list of senior Trump-administration political appointees—at least six by our count—living in Washington-area military housing.
Kristi Noem, the Homeland Security secretary, moved out of her D.C. apartment building and into the home designated for the Coast Guard commandant on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, across the river from the capital, after the Daily Mail described where she lived. Both Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth live on “Generals’ Row” at Fort McNair, an Army enclave along the Anacostia River, according to officials from the State and Defense Departments.
A storm is coming….

Do you think Trump’s people are acting like snowflakes, or grandstanding for sympathy? This Virginia jury decided that calls for Trump’s assassination amounted to protected First Amendment speech, as MSNBC reports:
A former Coast Guard lieutenant who called for President Donald Trump’s assassination on social media was acquitted by a federal jury Tuesday after his attorneys argued the posts were protected speech under the First Amendment.
Federal prosecutors in Virginia argued that Peter A. Stinson, who received sharpshooting awards during his 33-year career as a Coast Guard officer, “seriously, specifically and repeatedly called for someone to assassinate the President” in online messages dating to 2020. Stinson’s public defenders argued that the posts were not specific enough to overcome the First Amendment’s protection on speech that advocates violence.
When Democrats need to hide in military bases like confidential informants in The Godfather, and red-state juries acquit Republicans for urging their murder, get back to me and tell me that conservatives and Christians are the genuine “threat to democracy.”
America Has Been Pro-Jewish Since its Founding
You might or might not be following the controversy over Tucker Carlson’s softball interviews of open antisemites and extreme critics of Israel, or his ongoing involvement with Turning Point USA and the Heritage Foundation. We don’t want to wade too deeply into this new breach on the Right. But it’s worth pointing out that the U.S. was founded by Christian churches that were distinctly philosemitic, theological heirs to Oliver Cromwell — whose faith led him to reverse the centuries-long ban keeping Jews out of England. In fact, he invited them back. And the U.S. founders who repeated his rebellion against the Crown shared his sentiments, as Joel Barry notes:
Love for the Jewish people has been in America’s protestant Christian DNA since the founding. pic.twitter.com/8eMWfVikCd

So the first Americans didn’t think hating Jews was part of being America First. However, podcaster and newfound Tucker Carlson pal Nick Fuentes clearly does. Here’s Fuentes, after Charlie Kirk’s murder, denouncing Turning Point USA and Kirk’s widow Erika for their alleged ties to Israel:
Nick Fuentes: “Erika Kirk is a SPOOK. Erika is a PLANT…his (Charlie) wife was put with him in an arranged marriage.”
Tucker Carlson claimed to be Charlie’s friend, yet chose to NOT PUSH BACK against a man who publicly smeared Charlie’s wife after his death. pic.twitter.com/jp13DRVkTl

We should have nothing to do with people like this. Not just for electoral or practical considerations, but for reasons of moral hygiene.
