Over 60 Abortion Businesses Have Closed Down in 2025 So Far

Troy Newman, president of the pro-life group Operation Rescue, announced preliminary findings from the organization’s annual abortion facility survey today and he informed LifeNews that dozens of abortion centers have closed down this year.

“Our dedicated team has just completed OR’s annual abortion facility survey, and the preliminary results are nothing short of historic,” Newman said.

The survey found 13 states now remain completely abortion-free when it comes to allowing legal Abortions (although abortion pill sales from out of state are still a problem).

Meanwhile close to 60 abortion facilities have closed or halted abortions in 2025, with final verification of the exact number still underway.

Three high-profile closures highlighted in the report include the late-term Boulder Abortion Clinic in Colorado, Planned Parenthood’s Greater Texas mega-center located in south Houston, and Planned Parenthood’s New York flagship, the Margaret Sanger Center — the same facility Newman said previously cost him $18 million in judgments.

“61 Planned Parenthood locations in total (including referral centers) have shut their doors since our 2024 survey — a record number,” Newman said.

Newman attributed the closures to decades of pro-life efforts along with he Dobbs decision allowing states to protect babies from abortions and the recent bill President Donald Trump signed that refunded Planned Parenthood for one year.

“This is the fruit of decades of faithful pro-life work — prayer, activism, and truth-telling in the public square,” he said. “Operation Rescue’s investigative team has tracked, verified, and documented every single closure. We’ll soon release our full 2025 report that the media cannot ignore.”

Despite the gains, Newman warned that abortion sellers are shifting operations.

“Abortionists are regrouping in border states and online networks,” he said. “Our work — uncovering illegal pill operations, documenting injuries, and equipping lawmakers with hard data — is more vital than ever.”
