Speaker Johnson Apologizes to Americans Hurt By Shutdown, ‘It’s on the Democrats’ [WATCH]

House Speaker Mike Johnson addressed the press on Capitol Hill Wednesday morning, confirming that the shutdown is expected to end tonight.

Johnson also apologized to Americans impacted by the shutdown — and took a jab at Dems.

“It was completely and utterly foolish and pointless in the end,” Johnson said. “I just want to apologize to any Americans who are out there and still have flight delays and cancellations; I want to apologize to the many American families who were made to go hungry; to our troops wondering where their next paycheck was going to come from — all that is on the Democrats.”

“Never forget that they voted 15 times between the House and the Senate to close your government and Republicans tried every day of the shutdown to open it,” Johnson added, saying Democrats have “a lot to answer for.”

“We have a very aggressive calendar for the rest of the year,” Johnson added.
