American religious affiliations – if the U.S. had just 100 people

There were roughly 262 million adults in the United States, among whom are about 162 million Christians (and 76 million people who have no religion). Such huge numbers make it difficult to fully understand America’s religious landscape. But what if we imagined the U.S. as a small town of just 100 people? In this scenario, 62 would be Christian. With so many Protestant groups, it’s hard to break them down, denomination by denomination, but the largest group would be the 23 Evangelical Protestants, and there’d be 19 Catholics.
