Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz Officially Closes Ohio Center

The Planned Parenthood abortion business has officially closed a center in the Columbus, Ohio area.

Last month, Planned Parenthood abortion business announced the closure of yet another abortion center, this time in central Ohio. The closure comes thanks to the defunding bill President Donald Trump signed this year that revokes federal taxpayer dollars from the abortion company.

Now that closing has taken effect and the abortion center is shut down for now.

Lauren Blauvelt, executive director of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio, said the decision was difficult.

“Having to lay off staff is an incredibly hard decision for Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio. All of this is in order to continue to stay open, to see our patients and we are continuing to work with our supporters to expand our services,” Blauvelt said.

But no one has to go to a center that kills babies in order to get legitimate health care.

Mike Gonadakis, chairman of Ohio Right to Life, said central Ohio has other resources for low-income and pregnant women.

“We’re blessed in central Ohio with great health care options, especially for low-income women, pregnant women in this case. So Planned Parenthood is not needed,” Gonadakis said.

He pointed to one option nearby.

“Look, there is a ministry called Lower Lights Ministry, which is a federally qualified Health Center in Franklinton, just a couple streets away from the now closed Planned Parenthood that has grown leaps and bounds, countless women, children, pregnant, low income,” he said.

The abortion business is attributing the decision to federal defunding and Medicaid cuts that have drained the abortion company of roughly $10 million in revenue.

The closure, which eliminates one of the organization’s 13 abortion centers in the state, comes amid a second round of staff layoffs this year, affecting 17 employees effective November 18. All workers at the Franklinton site were included in the reductions, with remaining customers redirected to the North Columbus location.

Post-closure, Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio will operate 11 abortion centers and two ambulatory surgical abortion centers in Bedford Heights and Columbus.
