The number of independent abortion clinics that ceased operations in 2025 reached 23 as of October, nearly double the 12 closures recorded in 2024 and matching the 23 from 2023
The report from the pro-abortion group “Abortion Care Network” focuses on abortion centers not affiliated with the Planned Parenthood abortion company. They kill 58% of babies whose lives are ended in abortions.
These closures represent a significant step forward in the protection of unborn babies, as fewer facilities mean fewer places that kill children. Since the 2022 overturning of Roe v. Wade in Dobbs, a total of 100 independent clinics have closed nationwide, outpacing the 60 that have opened in pro-abortion states during the same time period.

The pro-abortion group said funding shortages emerged as the dominant factor driving the 2025 closures and said 396 abortion businesses remain across America.
In other good news, donations to abortion funds nationwide have dwindled since the initial post-Dobbs surge, with one major provider, the National Abortion Federation hotline, slashing its monthly budget for funding abortions in half from $6 million to $3 million in July 2024.
Despite the good news, the pro-abortion group says tens of thousands of babies are killed in abortions every month. It says monthly abortion numbers averaged 98,630 in the first half of 2025 – making it clear that the proliferation of the abortion pill and the very difficult economy over the last few years have driven up abortions. The group said self-reporting of abortion figures is higher, which accounts for some of the increase.
Meanwhile, the Planned Parenthood abortion business has closed 48 abortion centers this year.
