Dem Bennie Thompson Shrugs Off Murder of National Guardsman, Gets Blasted By Kristi Noem [WATCH]

A senior House Democrat just sparked outrage by brushing off the fatal shooting of a National Guard soldier as merely an “unfortunate accident.”

And DHS Secretary Kristi Noem let him have it.

Rep. Bennie Thompson, the top Democrat on the Homeland Security Committee, used the eyebrow-raising phrase while grilling Noem on Thursday about the immigration process that let the alleged shooter into the U.S.

Thompson casually labeled the attack — which killed one guardsman and left another fighting for his life — an “unfortunate accident.”

“You think that was an unfortunate accident? He shot our guardsmen in the head,” Noem fired back.

Thompson doubled down, calling it an “unfortunate situation” and insisting Noem was unfairly blaming President Biden.

Democrats on the panel tried to get Noem to concede that the suspect’s asylum application originated under the Trump administration — but Noem wouldn’t take the bait. She said the Biden-era rules used to process his case are what ultimately mattered.

Then came the bombshell: National Counterterrorism Center chief Joe Kent testified that the Biden administration used “a ruse” to bring the suspect into the country through immigration parole, bypassing the stricter security checks of the Special Immigrant Visa program.
