IT’S THE DEMS, STUPID! Karoline Leavitt Schools Press on Who Exactly Created the Obamacare Problem [WATCH]

Obamacare — it’s right there in the name.

The White House unloaded Thursday, airing out the Democrats’ dirty laundry over the looming collapse of Obamacare’s juiced-up subsidies — and warning that millions could face brutal premium hikes thanks to a mess they created.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dropped the hammer in the briefing room, reminding reporters the ACA was rammed through “without a single Republican vote” and that Democrats later slapped on temporary COVID-era subsidy boosts that expire December 31, 2025 — by design.

“It now seems all but certain that the Obamacare subsidies will expire at the end of the year, which means more than 20 million Americans are bracing for their health care costs to soar. Is the President prepared to let this happen, or is he going to step in?” one reporter asked Leavitt.

“The President is prepared to take action on health care and wants Republicans on the Hill to do the same, as you have seen Senate Republicans put forth their own legislation earlier this week,” Leavitt shot back.

“As for the subsidies that are set to expire, I would like to remind you and everybody at home why this is on the brink of happening. Democrats wrote Obamacare — they passed it without a single Republican vote — then ballooned it with these expensive COVID subsidies that completely distorted the health insurance market. They doubled down by extending those subsidies, setting their own expiration date right now in 2025,” she added.

“We are working—the President is working with his health care policy team here at the White House, as well as Republicans on Capitol Hill—to find a solution. He’s said that he wants to see a solution to lower health care costs.”

Those pandemic-era subsidy sweeteners now prop up coverage for more than 20 million enrollees, and the fallout will be fierce. Analysts say once the Democrat add-ons disappear, average annual premiums for subsidized users will explode by 114% — jumping from $888 to nearly $1,900.

That’s a political time bomb with a ticking clock.

Meanwhile, across Capitol Hill, Senate Democrats threw gasoline on the fire by killing a GOP plan to expand health savings accounts — a signature Republican effort to lower out-of-pocket costs and give families more control. The move set off fresh accusations that Democrats are more interested in preserving their own policy failures than fixing the price crunch.
