UN Vows to Weaponize Children for “Climate Action”

BELÉM, BRAZIL — With the man-made global-warming narrative collapsing amid President Donald Trump’s attacks and the discredited predictions made by alarmists, the United Nations and its educational bureaucracy doubled down. Among their key agenda items at this year’s annual “climate” summit: Indoctrinating and weaponizing the next generation into becoming activists.

Top UN officials literally boasted about their plans. Indeed, they vowed to inject climate propaganda into all elements of “education.” The escalating extremism from the UN and its “education” establishment came as even billionaire population-control zealot Bill Gates — long a leading peddler of climate hysteria — started downplaying the severity of “climate change” ahead of the summit.       

In the “COP30 Global Climate Action Agenda (GCAA)” Outcomes Report released after the summit ended, the UN declared that its “strategy” for fighting climate change “urgently requires” schemes including “mandatory climate education” for all children, everywhere. This includes roping “thousands of universities” into the scheme as well, the UN document declared. 

Progress is already well underway. One of the major events at the so-called UN “COP30” was the “Ministerial Roundtable on Greening Education.” Hosted by the Marxist Brazilian regime, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), it featured numerous examples from around the world of schools and teachers propagandizing children to believe only global governance can “save” the climate. 

“We urgently need to strengthen teacher training and curricula, so every learner has the knowledge and skills to tackle the climate crisis,” argued Christopher Castle, director of UNESCO’s so-called “Division for Peace and Sustainable Development.” “Despite progress, key concepts like climate change and biodiversity are still missing in many classrooms.” But they have big plans to change that in the near future. 

Another top UNESCO official, Assistant Director-General for Education Stefania Giannini, argued that “educating” children with “climate” is “one of the most powerful tools in the global efforts to address the climate crisis.” However, she made clear that just having them “understand” the supposed “challenges” of climate change was not enough. Instead, children worldwide must be driven “to take action,” she said. 

In short, capturing the hearts and minds of the next generation — and turning them into activists — is literally the plan to resurrect the dead horse of climate hysteria. And with polls showing most Americans do not even believe the man-made warming hypothesis, and Trump calling it the “greatest con job in the history of humanity,” it is clear why creating and recruiting new climate zealots among the youth is so essential to the plan.     

Among other high points at the event, UNESCO highlighted data showing that almost 100,000 schools in nearly 100 nations have adopted its “green” recommendations — so far. However, UNESCO officials said, governments and the “educators” must do much more to integrate climate propaganda into “all school curricula,” all over the world, within the next few years, they emphasized. And they are not kidding.  

The enforcement mechanism is coming soon. In fact, a major focus of the event was aligning standardized academic tests and assessments with the UN’s “climate” agenda under the guise of “climate literacy.” After all, unless children around the world are tested on it, there is no way for the UN to ensure that teachers are actually teaching the UN-backed propaganda, or that children are absorbing it. 

At last year’s summit in Baku, Azerbaijan, which this writer also attended for The New American magazine, The Newman Report revealed that the PISA international assessments will include “climate literacy” very soon. At this year’s summit, global bureaucrats unveiled that draft PISA framework, defining the “essential knowledge, skills and attitudes that students should develop.”  

In order to achieve the UN’s “climate goals,” national governments and dictatorships must incorporate the looming “climate literacy” schemes into their own education assessments, officials declared. In addition to enforcing compliance, the regular UN-backed testing will help the UN and governments determine what strategies are most effective for brainwashing children. 

Much progress has been made in recent years. Over 150 governments — up from just 40 — included references to education in their 2025 so-called Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) unveiled for COP30. These are essentially the commitments each government makes under the Paris Accord, with new NDCs due every five years. More than three out of four UN member states now feature “education” in their plans. 

Third world governments rushed to show off what they were doing with all the loot extracted from Western taxpayers at COP30, too. The regime in Morocco, for instance, boasted that it was using European taxpayer funds received under the guise of “climate financing” to indoctrinate legions of young people for future “climate diplomacy.”   

Another the key aim of the “Greening Education” event was to “reaffirm education as a cornerstone of global climate action,” its marketing materials explained. An official summary said government ministers and partners had a “shared commitment to integrate climate change education into all learning systems.” Virtually all national governments have already started, often with funding and pressure from the UN and Western governments.  

The “greening education” roundtable featured comments from Brazilian Education Minister Camilo Santana and other education ministers. Santana, a member of the Socialist Party before joining the even more extreme Workers’ Party of Marxist President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, even pledged to help other corrupt Third World autocracies with their indoctrination efforts.  

One of the outcomes of the COP30 was the creation of the new “Africa-Brazil-LAC Network on Education and Youth Policies for Climate Sustainability and Resilience.” Led by the Brazilian regime’s “Ministry of Education,” the network aims to “develop a multilateral training program” for educators while peddling education policies focused on “equity” and climate change. 

As The Newman Report documented on November 14, there were many senior UN officials and government leaders involved in strategizing about how to indoctrinate the world’s children. Also in attendance were key leaders from Education International, a global alliance of teachers’ unions purporting to speak for educators from around the globe. All were openly celebrating efforts to indoctrinate children as essential the “climate” agenda. 

UN bigwigs also claimed that governments must fight global warming even harder to make sure the planet does not get too hot for children to able to concentrate in class. Seriously. United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Executive Director Catherine Russell was one of many who sounded the alarm about how supposed warming might interfere with schooling.  

“Children cannot concentrate in classrooms that offer no respite from sweltering heat, and they cannot get to school if the path is flooded, or if schools are washed away,” claimed Russell. “Last year, severe weather kept one in seven students out of class, threatening their health and safety, and impacting their long-term education.” 

Apparently, at least if UN officials are to be believed, more UN regulations, taxes, and indoctrination will help not just decrease temperatures, but also reduce flooding, storms, diseases, and other natural disasters. It is all for the children, of course. And if humanity does not promptly bow down, poor children will not be able to focus in class. PAY UP! 

The World Bank’s “Global Partnership for Education” also emphasized that “education” is the key. “Education is central to mutirão [the final agreement inked at COP30] as it’s uniquely positioned to bring communities together and drive collective action to build climate resilience, starting from the school,” GPE said, again showing that the goal is creating activists.  

Brainwashing children is essential, the leading global alliance for transforming education into climate indoctrination continued. “Education is not just a sector affected by climate change,” the outfit declared on its website. “It is the key to mobilizing society, building resilience and ensuring that the next generation can thrive in a changing world.” Mobilizing society: Let that sink in.
