Trump Offers to Speak to Ukrainian Parliament in Bid to End War [WATCH]

President Donald Trump dropped a bombshell at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend, saying he’d be willing to fly to Ukraine himself to push its parliament to cede contested land to Russia if that’s what it takes to end the war.

He also declared peace is “closer than ever before.”

Trump sat down for a working lunch with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, then told reporters the two discussed how to end what he called “the biggest war, certainly the deadliest war, since World War II.”

Asked if he’d travel to Ukraine, Trump said, “I’d have no problem with doing it… I don’t anticipate it. I would like to get the deal done and not necessarily have to go.”

But he added he’s “offered to go and speak to their parliament,” specifically mentioning tough talks over the Donbas region and possible territorial concessions.

Trump claimed the U.S. and Ukraine are “95 percent” in agreement on Zelensky’s 20-point peace proposal, with only “one or two very thorny issues” left — citing Donbas as the biggest sticking point. He bluntly noted that “some of that land has been taken… some of that land is maybe up for grabs,” and argued Ukraine may be “better off making a deal now.”

Peace talks are once again in jeopardy after Russia claimed Monday that Ukraine attacked an official residence of Vladimir Putin in the Novgorod region with 91 long-range drones overnight, saying all were shot down.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky flatly denied it. He said Kremlin Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s claim was false and accused Moscow of “laying the groundwork” for strikes on Kyiv after Zelensky’s Sunday meeting with Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
