House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) called for the deportation of all Somalis linked to fraud in Minnesota, as scrutiny intensifies on the state’s handling of the alleged schemes.
In a post on X, Emmer said even naturalized citizens should have their citizenship revoked so they can be deported — and he signaled he’s willing to push legislation to make it happen.
“I have three words regarding Somalis who have committed fraud against American taxpayers: Send them home. If they’re here illegally, deport them immediately; if they’re naturalized citizens, revoke their citizenship and deport them quickly thereafter,” the No. 3 House Republican wrote. “If we need to change the law to do that, I will.”
“Our nation will not tolerate those who take advantage of our charity and refuse to assimilate into our culture,” he added.

The backdrop: federal heat is rising.
The Department of Homeland Security said Monday that federal authorities were on the ground in Minnesota as part of a “massive investigation on childcare and other rampant fraud.”
And prosecutors are widening the net.
Federal prosecutors announced earlier this month that they were significantly broadening an investigation into fraud in the North Star State, charging an additional six people in the schemes — bringing the total number of people charged to 92.
Emmer’s message is clear: if you’re tied to the fraud, he wants the consequences to come with a one-way ticket.
