It looks like the Trump–Musk freeze is thawing.
President Donald Trump and Elon Musk appear to have repaired their once-strained relationship after the billionaire Tesla boss posted a cozy update on X from Mar-a-Lago.
In a post shared Sunday, Musk wrote, “Had a lovely dinner last night with @POTUS and @FLOTUS,” before adding, “2026 is going to be amazing!”
The photo — snapped Saturday night in Florida — instantly kicked off chatter that the pair’s bromance might be back on after months of tension.
Musk has been a major GOP money man in the Trump era, with Reuters reporting he poured hundreds of millions of dollars into Republican political efforts after the 2024 campaign.
Trump later tapped Musk to advise the government efficiency effort and set up DOGE, aimed at cutting spending and streamlining operations — but Musk stepped back from the role in 2025 as the project drew heavy criticism and questions about its future.
