Think Minneapolis protesters are “peaceful?” Try again.
During Tuesday night’s Hannity, independent journalist Nick Sortor shared harrowing footage of his experience on the ground in Minnesota while reporting on anti-ICE protests.
His vehicle was swarmed, he was accosted, and his life was threatened.
“My role as an independent journalist is to be able to come out here and show what’s happening after the legacy media leaves. Because after it gets a little bit dicey, they pack up and go home and say, ‘Everything we saw was nice and peaceful,’” Sortor said.
“I’m going to sit there and film — you’re not going to bully me out of the location,” Sortor said, speaking about anti-ICE protesters. “We wouldn’t leave. We wouldn’t turn the cameras off. And they said, ‘Okay, we’re going to try and kill them,’ essentially.”
Sortor attempted to call 911, but Sortor said, “They basically told me to screw myself.”
“The last time I called 911, they basically said, ‘We know you’re surrounded by a mob, but we need you to walk six blocks to meet up with a police officer.’”
“I have never been to a place … where I feel genuinely, constantly in danger,” Sortor said, adding, “It’s terrifying to be a conservative in Minneapolis right now.”
We applaud his bravery.
