According to Fox News, the FBI said Friday it has arrested nearly 50 members and associates of the Latin Kings in a sweeping, multi-state crackdown targeting gang activity, drug trafficking, and threats against law enforcement, as the Trump Administration spotlights an intensified push against violent gangs.
Dubbed “Operation Broken Crown,” the three-month initiative involved more than a dozen FBI field offices and a slate of federal, state, local, and tribal partners, the bureau said. Since the operation began in October, agents have seized more than a dozen firearms, nearly $200,000 in illicit funds, and more than 10 kilograms of narcotics, including cocaine and fentanyl.
“Under President Trump’s and Attorney General Bondi’s leadership, this FBI is dismantling violent gang networks in America at a record clip — breaking their operations and saving lives in the process,” FBI Director Kash Patel said in a statement. “In 2025, we saw a 210% increase in gang takedowns from MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, and now just weeks into 2026, we’re announcing another 3-month takedown operation.”
The FBI said one Latin Kings member explicitly threatened a law enforcement officer in October 2025 and was later arrested. In Minnesota, an alleged Latin Kings member was charged this month with being a felon in possession of a firearm and theft of government property after allegedly breaking into an FBI vehicle and stealing a rifle, according to federal authorities.
Separately, FBI Indianapolis tied an investigation to a 21-year federal prison sentence this month after an alleged Latin Kings member pleaded guilty to meth distribution. And in Milwaukee, the FBI’s Area Safe Streets Task Force executed residential search warrants in January, arresting four alleged members and seizing 10 firearms and more than $120,000 in illicit funds, with two additional arrests and more weapons later recovered, according to the FBI account.
