A few days after the killing of the leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, known as ‘El Mencho’, chaos reigns throughout the country. “We are aware of the difficult times we face as a society. Therefore, I deliver a message of peace and appeal to everyone to work together for the common good and to promote the justice and social peace that are so urgently needed,” said Cardinal Carlos Aguiar Retes, Archbishop of Mexico City, in an address to priests, deacons, members of religious orders, members of institutes of consecrated life, and the laity.
