Planned Parenthood Empire State is seeking $80 million in state taxpayer funding to keep its abortion centers operating, as radical abortion activists rallied Wednesday at the New York State Capitol to press for the money in the fiscal year 2027 budget.
The request comes as a federal law President Donald Trump signed defunded America’s abortion giant, prompting warnings that abortion centers could close without the state aid.
Organizers outlined the breakdown as $35 million to replace lost federal Medicaid reimbursements, $30 million for the Reproductive Freedom and Equity Program to support access to abortion, and $15 million for the Family Planning Grant.

Additional requests include $20 million more to support dangerous abortion pills, plus $8 million to enact and fund a Gender-Affirming Care Access Program that would mutilate children with trans drugs and surgeries.
Without the state money, Planned Parenthood clinics may close more centers.
New York has positioned itself as a haven for abortion while other states protect babies.
Dr. Stacy De-Lin, medical director with Planned Parenthood, told the crowd she sells abortions to many out of state customers.
Senate Democratic Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, who attended the rally, declared that “New York will continue to be a beacon” for killing babies.
A letter from Gov. Kathy Hochul, read by a representative at the event, stated: “I will always fight like hell to protect you, your family, and your bodily autonomy.”
In the North Country, three Planned Parenthood clinics — in Plattsburgh, Saranac Lake and Malone — are among those that could close without the aid.
