On January 29, a 30-year-old woman required emergency transport from the Fort Collins Planned Parenthood due to “heavy complications” after an abortion.
This is the same Planned Parenthood that just one year ago delayed emergency care for Lexi Arguello after she developed a catastrophic complication during a second trimester abortion. State officials and legislators have done nothing to investigate this tragic death and, in fact, killed a legislative bill just weeks after Lexi’s death that would have required Colorado abortion clinics to finally undergo inspections for licensing.
Currently, abortion clinics are the only ambulatory centers in the state exempt from safety inspections or investigation.
The Newest Emergency
At approximately 2:23 PM on January 29, Planned Parenthood was forced to call for an emergency transport. Records obtained by Operation Rescue, though heavily redacted, revealed a determinant code of “33C03T.” The “C” represents a “Charlie Medical” call and indicates a possibly life-threatening situation. The “03” indicates the specific condition: significant hemorrhage or shock.

“This was clearly a very dangerous situation,” says Sarah Neely, Operation Rescue’s COO. “And though the Fort Collins Police Department continues to hide the truth about Planned Parenthood by overly redacting public records, our investigative team dug deeper. We located the EMS dispatch records to further reveal how much Planned Parenthood is endangering women while the state stands by.”
Request for Blood
According to the dispatch records, after one ambulance was attached to the 911 call, it almost immediately called for a second ambulance to bring “blood” to the scene. Another emergency response vehicle – likely a fire engine or fire ambulance – was also attached to the call.
A few seconds later, dispatch relayed to “Engine 1” that two ambulances were on route for a “30 year-old female with heavy complications after an abortion.” According to the computer-aided dispatch report and records, Engine 1 and the first attached ambulance arrived on site first, with the second ambulance carrying blood arriving just as emergency responders were “ready to load the patient onto [their] cot.”
Is it possible the first ambulance was concerned about having enough blood available because responders are now aware of how poorly Planned Parenthood communicated the level of emergency care needed when Lexi Arguello was the one in need of an ambulance just one year prior?
Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, comments, “I have listened to hundreds of 911 calls and investigated even more abortion injuries. I have never heard an ambulance call for bags of blood to be brought on site at an abortion clinic. How much blood had this woman lost to possibly need an immediate transfusion? Did responders suspect Planned Parenthood once again waited too long before calling 911 after ‘heavy complications’ began?”
Similarities to Lexi’s Death
During the initial investigation into Lexi’s death in 2025, more than one source indicated Planned Parenthood waited too long to call 911 after Lexi developed an amniotic embolism – a complication that 50% of women die from within an hour.
And, even when Planned Parenthood finally did deign to call 911, the information staffers gave dispatch apparently only resulted in a “Charlie Medical” code – a possibly life-threatening situation – instead of the much more appropriate “Delta Medical” code, which indicates a definite life-threatening situation. Of course, the 911 records for this call were also so heavily redacted as to hide all possible information that might implicate Planned Parenthood.
“Thanks to city officials who clearly believe Planned Parenthood deserves more protection than the women entering these unregulated abortion businesses, no citizen will likely ever know what misinformation Planned Parenthood gave dispatch that day – or if they did the same again during this new abortion injury,” says Neely.
The details Operation Rescue was able to gather so far about this newest emergency, despite the city’s decision to once more render public documents almost useless, all point to another catastrophic injury that Planned Parenthood may have downplayed to emergency responders after delaying emergency care – all to avoid public scrutiny.
“Colorado continues to be one of the most dangerous abortion destinations in America,” adds Newman, “and this Planned Parenthood is butchering women. Last year, we investigated 15 medical emergencies across three different Colorado abortion clinics – all Planned Parenthoods. Of those 15 emergencies, eight took place at this location. State and city officials cannot keep giving this abortion business a free pass while women die. It is unconscionable.”
At the writing of this article, the medical status of this 30-year-old mother is unknown. However, Operation Rescue is still actively investigating the incident.
