President Trump will travel to Memphis, Tennessee, on Monday to highlight a crime task force launched last year.
Trump announced the Memphis Safe Task Force in September as part of an effort to replicate a federal law enforcement crackdown used in Washington, D.C., in the Tennessee city.
“This task force will be a replica of our extraordinarily successful efforts here [in D.C.], and you’ll see it’s a lot of the same thing,” Trump said in the Oval Office at the time, alongside Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee and Republican Sens. Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty.
