If President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement isn’t dead, it’s on life support.
Since Trump betrayed his base on the Epstein files and, now, with the unconstitutional attack on Iran on behalf of Israel, Democrats have flipped dozens of seats in state legislatures.
Such is the damage that a far-left Democrat defeated a Republican in the Florida congressional district that is home to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
Former GOP Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, once a Trump favorite but an outcast since she took on Trump over the Epstein Files, said that GOP neoconservative crazies are leading Republicans to a “slaughter” in November’s midterm elections.
Election Upset
The canary in the MAGA coal mine is Florida House District 87, where leftist Emily Gregory upset Republican Jon Maples in a special election. This is a district that Trump won by 10 points in 2024, as Fox News reported:
“If Democrats can win in Trump’s own backyard, we can win anywhere. From now until November, Democrats are all gas and no brakes as we compete across every corner of Florida and the nation,” Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Ken Martin emphasized as he pointed to this year’s midterm elections, when the GOP will be defending its narrow House and Senate majorities.
Republicans are ignoring the loss. It’s much ado about nothing, they say. “A low-turnout state House special election is a snapshot of local quirks, candidate dynamics, and turnout math — not some grand verdict,” said a top GOP spokesman.
Maybe, but that wasn’t the only loss for the GOP, as The Hill noted. And those two defeats are not unusual:
Democrat Brian Nathan defeated state GOP Rep. Josie Tomkow to fill the seat vacated by Lt. Gov. Jay Collins (R). Collins won the seat by 9 points in 2024, while Trump won it by 3 points that same year. …
Last month, Democrats flipped a Texas state Senate seat that Trump won by 17 points in 2024. In 2025 and 2026, the party has seen a series of state, local and special election wins in Pennsylvania, Iowa, Oklahoma, Virginia and New Jersey.
Two weeks ago, Politico reported that Democrats have been crushing Republicans for the last year. “Democrats have flipped 28 Republican-held seats in state legislatures across the country over the past 14 months, a sign that the GOP is indeed at risk of losing control of the House, and maybe even the Senate, in the midterms,” the website explained.
“I’m ringing the alarm bell,” a Texas GOP brain truster told Politico.
MTG: Slaughter Coming November
He should be, Greene thinks.
On X, the former MAGA member posted a graphic detailing 12 seats that Republicans have lost. Reason for the losses: Trump and his neocon chicken hawks.
“I’d like to congratulate two time Congressional candidate loser Laura Loomer, MIGA foreign op Mark Levin, and Neocon murdering psycho Senator Lindsey Graham for leading Republicans into slaughter going into midterms,” she wrote:
Your incessant lies to President Trump have destroyed all faith in the GOP.
I’d also like to remind everyone that when I led the party on the campaign trail fighting for America First in ’22 and ’24, all the GOP did was win win win!
But after Trump called me a traitor and said he would destroy me for releasing the Epstein files, I refuse to fight for Trump and the Republican Party that defends the Epstein class, wages pointless foreign wars, and pursues America LAST.
I never changed, Trump and the GOP betrayed their voters and took in the trash we threw out of the party.
Loomer, Levin, and Lady Lindsey are the BEST political consultants the Democrat Party could ever imagine!!!
MIGA means Make Israel Great Again.
MTG, as Greene is known, went on the warpath against Trump after he attacked her as “Marjorie Traitor Brown” in November. Trump claimed that she was polling poorly. In fact, the former congresswoman observed, Trump was furious about Greene’s pressing Trump on the Epstein files.
When she announced that she would resign from Congress as of January 5 this year, she published an America First jeremiad on X.
“America First should mean America First and only Americans First, with no other foreign country ever being attached to America First in our halls of government,” she wrote:
Standing up for American women who were raped at 14, trafficked and used by rich powerful men, should not result in me being called a traitor and threatened by the President of the United States, whom I fought for. …
I have too much self respect and dignity, love my family way too much, and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the President we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms.
Early this month, Greene strongly suggested that an America First insurrection is brewing against Trump because of the war in Iran.
“I’ve been on the phone with some of the top America First Conservative leaders,” she wrote. She and those leaders agree that the Trump administration and Republican Party are headed “in the wrong direction on key issues, like the war, Epstein, and especially domestic issues, and [have] been completely hijacked by the Lindsey Grahams, Mark Levin, and the neocon establishment Republicans we all voted against.”
“The future of America belongs to us, the younger generations, not the boomers in charge and their boomer donors,” she wrote:
I, and others, have been doing our part to call out the wrongs and fight back, and a large percentage of Americans agree.
But I can’t impart on you all enough that the power to make change is on the outside. After 5 years of trying while in congress, I can tell you firsthand it’s completely broken and controlled.
An entire generation of elected leaders, their donors, and controlling interests have to be removed. And it’s both sides.
