NASA’s Historic Artemis II Mission Back to the Moon

NASA’s Artemis II mission is underway, with four astronauts strapped in and preparing for liftoff at 6:24 p.m. ET from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

The crew includes Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, along with Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen.

This is the first time astronauts will travel to the vicinity of the moon in more than 50 years. The mission is designed to go farther from Earth than any human flight in history — potentially surpassing the distance record set during the Apollo program.
