Former Vice President Mike Pence is warning congressional Republicans that they are running out of time to extend a temporary ban on federal funding for Planned Parenthood, with the prohibition set to expire on July 4.
“Congressional Republicans must deliver for pro-life Americans by extending the ban on federal funding for Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers,” Pence told Fox News Digital. “If Congress does not act, Planned Parenthood will celebrate America’s 250th birthday with taxpayer funding. Renewed federal funding for Planned Parenthood is unacceptable to me and to millions of pro-life Americans across the United States.”
The temporary defunding measure was included in the “One Big Beautiful Bill” signed by President Donald Trump.
Pence made the comments as part of a push by his Advancing American Freedom Foundation, which has released a 20-point conservative policy agenda that includes extending or making permanent the ban on taxpayer funding for abortion companies like Planned Parenthood.

The warning comes as the nation’s largest abortion provider reported killing a record 434,450 babies in abortions during its 2024-2025 fiscal year, an 8% increase from the previous year. That total equates to more than 1,190 abortions per day.
The organization also received a record $832 million in taxpayer funding during the period, a 5% increase.
Those figures do not yet reflect the impact of the new federal defunding measure. Over the past 25 years, Planned Parenthood has killed nearly 8 million babies in abortions while receiving more than $12.3 billion in taxpayer funds.
Katherine Van Dyke, an American Life League researcher, highlighted Planned Parenthood’s expanding use of telehealth services, which increased 126% from 2024 to 2025, reaching 320,390 telehealth appointments plus another 62,000 through virtual centers. These undoubtedly push dangerous abortion pills that kill babies and injure women.
“American Life League has been drawing attention to Planned Parenthood’s efforts to commit abortions over the internet for nearly two decades now,” Van Dyke said. “Unfortunately, we expect these numbers to increase as more facilities close and more money can be utilized to provide abortion pills and contraceptive drugs through the mailing system. This is all part of Planned Parenthood’s deadly strategy.”
Judie Brown, American Life League president, criticized both the content and the timing of the release.
“Hidden beneath the glass and the numbers is the actual truth that Planned Parenthood detests families as God designs them,” Brown said. “It works tirelessly to market evil and promote it under the guise of ‘healthcare.’ In short, we cannot believe a word it writes. Shame on Planned Parenthood!”
