Chicago police cruiser rammed during teen street takeover as crowd cheers and records chaos

Wild video out of Chicago shows a police cruiser being rammed by another vehicle during a chaotic overnight street takeover as crowds cheered, jumped on the squad car, and filmed the mayhem for social media.

The incident unfolded around 12:43 a.m. Wednesday, during what authorities described as a “teen takeover” on the city’s streets, according to Fox Chicago.

Footage circulating online shows a vehicle repeatedly pushing a Chicago police cruiser backward while a crowd surrounded both cars, shouting and recording the chaos on their phones.

At several points in the video, people could be seen climbing onto the police vehicle while officers struggled to maneuver through the crowd.

The disturbing scene is the latest example of so-called “street takeovers” erupting in major Democrat-run cities across the country, where large crowds block intersections for dangerous stunts, burnouts, and viral social media clips.

Authorities arrested 19-year-old Maximus Wyderski following the incident. He was charged with misdemeanor reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude officers, along with nine separate vehicle citations.

But Wyderski insists police arrested the wrong person.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, he claimed he was merely watching the gathering when his car battery died and he tried flagging officers down for help.

“The second cop, he pulls right behind me, gets out of his car, and tells me to ‘get the f— out,’ put my hands up, and then he arrests me,” Wyderski said.

“And then he said that I was a part of an alleged street takeover and then charged me with all that.”

Wyderski denied being the driver seen ramming the police cruiser.

The chaos didn’t stop there.

A second street takeover reportedly erupted Friday night in Chicago’s Hegewisch neighborhood, according to Alderman Peter Chico. Video from that incident showed masked individuals banging on another police cruiser and preventing officers from driving away.

It remains unclear whether any arrests were made in the second incident.

Chicago Alderman Raymond Lopez blasted city leadership and demanded harsher crackdowns on everyone involved in the gatherings.

“I’m very much concerned only one person was arrested,” Lopez said.

“In a sea of stupidity we only caught one criminal fish.”

“Everyone there is breaking the law,” he added. “Everyone there is contributing to the minors there who are breaking the law and all of them are putting each other’s lives at risk.”
