Lakewood Church To Be Renamed ‘DraftKings Arena’ Following Branding Deal

HOUSTON, TX — Lakewood Church officially announced that it would be changing its name to DraftKings Arena as part of a lucrative new branding deal.

Pastor Joel Osteen confirmed the rebranding during a midweek service in which he detailed specifics of the $50 million agreement.

“This is a gift from on high, friends,” Osteen said. “That’s fifty million big ones just for changing the name of the building, adding DraftKings branding to all our books, and taking fifteen minutes every Sunday to discuss the latest sports predictions.”

He added, “Sign up for DraftKings Daily Fantasy Sports with promo code OSTEEN today!”

Local Christians called the deal a work of the devil, arguing that it created an unhealthy link between worship and online gambling. Osteen disagreed, however, pointing out that he was receiving $50 million from the deal and that money was an obvious force for good in the world.

“This deal is a no-brainer,” Osteen said. “I sold my soul for a lot less years ago, believe me. God wants people to have money. And more importantly than that, God wants me to have money.”

At publishing time, Osteen had announced that every first-time visitor to a Sunday morning service at DraftKings Arena would receive $300 in free bonus bets.
