Planned Parenthood Perforates Woman’s Uterus in Botched Abortion

On March 4, 2026, emergency responders were dispatched to the Planned Parenthood Near North abortion facility in Chicago after an 18-year-old female suffered a uterine perforation following an abortion procedure. At the time the 911 call was placed, the young woman was reportedly still under sedation.

Uterine perforation is one of the most dangerous surgical abortion complications, and occurs when a medical instrument rips through the wall of the uterus. Such injuries can lead to catastrophic internal bleeding, infection, infertility, or death if not treated immediately.

“A1” Priority Response Indicates Serious Condition

According to official records obtained and shared by Pro-Life Action League, including both the 911 audio recording and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) report, the emergency was serious enough to receive an “A1” priority designation — one of the highest emergency response classifications used for potentially life-threatening situations requiring immediate intervention.

The 911 audio further reveals the urgency surrounding the call as emergency personnel coordinated hospital transport for the young woman even while she remained sedated following her abortion procedure.

The 911 dispatcher accurately describes the horror and danger of the situation when he seems to say, “Right, right, because she’s bleeding out,” in response to the Planned Parenthood employee stating that the abortionist was placing a foley catheter to try and slow the bleeding while this employee was instructed to call 911. This was a true emergency.

“Uterine perforation is not a minor complication,” says Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “And abortion clinics are not equipped to deal with such a life-threatening injury that can permanently harm a young woman’s reproductive system or even claim her life. Abortion facilities cannot continue to portray these procedures as ‘safe, routine, and harmless while women are being gravely injured and some even die. This unregulated Chicago Planned Parenthood will no doubt soon have another case like Lexi Arguello’s death in Colorado.”

Yet Another Abortion Injury in Illinois

This latest emergency adds to a growing list of documented abortion-related medical crises occurring throughout Illinois, a state that has become one of the nation’s most permissive abortion destinations following the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

“Illinois lawmakers and abortion activists have repeatedly promoted the state as a ‘safe haven’ for abortion, removing restrictions and expanding abortion access with minimal oversight. Yet Operation Rescue continues to document numerous cases of women rushed from abortion facilities by ambulance after severe complications,” comments Sarah Neely, COO for Operation Rescue.

Recent documented Illinois abortion emergencies involve women transported to hospitals after suffering serious complications following an abortion, and multiple ambulance dispatches to abortion facilities in the greater Chicago region. Injuries include, but are not limited to, abortion patients experiencing severe pain, surgical complications like collapsed lung or ‘pneumothorax,’ excessive bleeding requiring emergency response, and life-endangering uterine perforation.

Neely adds, “In one instance, we also found Illinois abortion clinics now framing late-term abortions as natural births in order to soften the narrative. But despite the industry’s groundless claims that abortion is extremely safe, these emergencies expose the true dangerous realities women face inside abortion facilities operating with little public scrutiny,” Neely added.

“The Sucker State” Shields the Abortion Industry

Operation Rescue has repeatedly warned that permissive abortion laws combined with weak oversight create dangerous conditions for women. Illinois has increasingly attracted out-of-state abortion traffic while simultaneously reducing safeguards and accountability measures for abortion providers.

Troy Newman observes, “Illinois state officials and abortion advocates have prioritized protecting the abortion industry’s image over ensuring meaningful transparency regarding patient injuries and emergency incidents. And these are not isolated events. Women are being injured in abortion facilities across Illinois with alarming frequency. The public deserves to know what is happening behind closed doors — especially when teenagers are being rushed from their abortions into ambulances and hospitals after suffering catastrophic injuries that can quickly result in death.”

Operation Rescue continues to investigate abortion-related medical emergencies nationwide through public records requests, emergency dispatch logs, and eyewitness accounts in an effort to expose the dangers women face inside the abortion industry.

Newman adds, “If you have witnessed one of these emergencies or have been injured yourself, please don’t remain quiet. Contact Operation Rescue today and our team of investigators will do all we can to uncover the truth.”
