Trump Endorses Steve Hilton in California Governor’s Race

The Golden State has a golden opportunity…

President Donald Trump jumped into California’s gubernatorial race Tuesday, issuing a full-throated endorsement of Republican candidate Steve Hilton and urging voters to support him in the state’s primary election.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump praised Hilton and promised a close working relationship between Sacramento and Washington if the Republican candidate wins the governor’s mansion.

“CALIFORNIA: Vote today for Steve Hilton for Governor,” Trump wrote.

“He will work with me and the Federal Government, the money will flow because I have confidence in him (but not any of the others!), and we will MAKE CALIFORNIA GREAT AGAIN. Steve Hilton will NEVER let you down. VOTE NOW!”

The endorsement gives Hilton a major boost as he seeks to emerge from California’s crowded top-two primary system and advance to the general election in November.

Trump’s backing comes just one day after Hilton unveiled a proposal to create a “Taxpayer Fraud Strike Force” tasked with investigating alleged fraud, waste, and abuse in California government. Hilton said the proposed unit would examine billions of dollars in questioned state spending and investigate whether government officials failed to address alleged misconduct.
