In a victory for a pro-life advocate, charges will be dropped against a pro-life woman for merely filming a video outside a Planned Parenthood abortion business.
Charges against pro-life advocate Anastasia Rogers will be dismissed in three months if she remains law-abiding and follows the court’s terms, her legal team announced to LifeNews.
Life Legal Defense Foundation said the court agreed to drop the case after months of prosecution and a recent mistrial in which the overwhelming majority of jurors voted not guilty.

Rogers will be allowed to return to the sidewalk outside a Planned Parenthood facility and resume her peaceful pro-life outreach as part of the Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust team.
The case stemmed from a short Instagram reel that prosecutors attempted to characterize as intimidation. Rogers was arrested Dec. 18, 2025, while handing out pregnancy resource pamphlets on the public sidewalk in front of the Planned Parenthood facility at 1522 Bush Street in San Francisco.
She had been charged under California’s Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act and Penal Code 423.2(g) over the 14-second video.
The nearly two-week trial ended in a mistrial, with the jury voting 10-2 in favor of acquittal on one count and 9-3 on the other.
Despite the outcome, the San Francisco District Attorney’s office initially refused to drop the charges and set the matter for retrial. Supporters responded with prayers, calls, and emails urging an end to the prosecution.
“This is a tremendous answer to prayer and a very encouraging step forward,” said Alexandra Snyder, CEO of Life Legal Defense Foundation. “Anastasia should never have been dragged through a criminal trial for peaceful pro-life advocacy. We are grateful that she can return to the sidewalk and continue offering help, hope, and truth to women and their children alongside the Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust team.”
Snyder credited public pressure for the development.
“This outcome shows that public pressure matters,” she said. “When peaceful pro-life advocates are targeted by the government, Life Legal will continue to stand in the gap. We are thankful for every person who spoke up for Anastasia and helped make this result possible.”
Life Legal emphasized that the case is not officially over until it is formally dismissed but called the development a significant victory. The organization asked supporters to continue praying for Rogers’ protection and courage during the next three months.
Rogers has made clear she will not be deterred from her work.
“If Planned Parenthood thinks that throwing me in jail for 7 hours or 7 days is going to stop me from loving my neighbor — the preborn child — they’re wrong,” she said following her arrest.
