New Jersey Blames ‘Slight Software Glitch’ For Enrolling Entire Country Of Bolivia As Voters

TRENTON, NJ — Concerns about election integrity in the United States were once again brought to the public’s attention, as New Jersey blamed a “slight software glitch” for accidentally enrolling the entire country of Bolivia as voters.

The error was acknowledged this week by Governor Mikie Sherrill, who apologized for the oversight and made it clear that it was in no way the state’s intention to register the entire population of a South American nation to vote in elections.

“Yeah, that’s our bad, totally unintentional,” Sherrill said at a press conference. “We did not mean to add the entire country of Bolivia to our voter rolls and have them swing every election in favor of the Democrats. That would be wrong and against the law. We don’t do things like that. The registration of 12 million Bolivians was simply the result of… of… a slight software glitch. Yeah… that’s what it was. Yep.”

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the “software glitch” was a New Jersey voter registration form that was accidentally sent to every person in Bolivia. “It was an honest mistake,” Sherrill continued. “I mean, what state hasn’t accidentally sent voter registration forms to every citizen of a foreign nation, right? And it just so happened to tip the scales in favor of one party by several million. It happens. The important thing is that we’ve learned from it. Next time, we won’t make it nearly as obvious.”

At publishing time, New Jersey had also admitted that the entire population of Honduras had mistakenly been receiving welfare funding from the state.
