Nearly every House Democrat just got put on the record on socialism.
And 192 of them voted no.
The House on Tuesday passed a non-binding resolution condemning “socialism in all its forms” and urging support for President Trump’s election-security legislation, with only eight Democrats joining Republicans.

The final vote was 220-192.
Reps. Kathy Castor, Vicente Gonzalez, Henry Cuellar, Darren Soto, Jared Golden, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, Don Davis and Gabe Vasquez were the only Democrats to vote yes.
Two others — Chrissy Houlahan and Maggie Goodlander — voted present.
The resolution, introduced by Rep. Jeff Crank, R-Colo., specifically took aim at the Democratic Socialists of America and called on Congress to oppose socialist policies in the United States.
Crank argued the fight is no longer theoretical.
“The DSA candidate platform stands in direct contrast to our republic,” he said, pointing to positions including abolishing the Senate, open borders, defunding police and allowing non-citizens to vote in federal elections.
“DSA is an insidious movement within the Democratic Party.”
Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., made the argument personal.
She described how communism in Cuba stripped her mother’s family of its home and business and ultimately scattered relatives who never saw one another again.
“That is what they’re refusing to condemn today,” Malliotakis said of Democrats.
“Let’s be clear that socialism is communism lite. Socialism is the first step to communism.”
The vote lands as democratic socialists continue expanding their footprint inside the broader left.
Since Zohran Mamdani’s breakthrough New York City mayoral victory, nearly 300 DSA-backed candidates have run for local, state and federal office.
A Brookings Institution analysis found 123 DSA-endorsed candidates have won primaries in the 2026 cycle, including 19 congressional candidates and five statewide contenders.
Republicans wanted Democrats on the record.
Now they are.
