President Donald Trump unloaded on all three Supreme Court justices he appointed after the Court refused to let his new mail-ballot restrictions take effect before the November midterms.
“These are not the people I interviewed to serve on the United States Supreme Court, they are merely a shell of their original selves,” Trump wrote Tuesday about Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett.
Trump accused the Court of being “bullied and cajoled by the Radical Left” and said its rulings had “set America back at least a hundred years.”

The frustration followed a Monday night order leaving in place a lower-court injunction against a new U.S. Postal Service rule implementing Trump’s March election-security directive. Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas publicly dissented. No other justice did.
The rule would have required states to give the Postal Service lists of mail-ballot recipients and use agency-approved outbound and return envelopes carrying unique barcodes. The Postal Service could refuse to send ballots that did not comply.
The administration says the system is meant to tighten election security and prevent fraud.
But lower courts blocked it after states and voting-rights groups argued the federal government was intruding on state-run elections and imposing a major new system just weeks before ballots were already being mailed.
The Supreme Court did not issue a final ruling that the Postal Service can never impose such rules.
Kavanaugh made that distinction explicit. He said there is a “fair prospect” the Postal Service has legal authority to adopt the requirements, but concluded state and local election officials simply did not have enough time to implement them before the 2026 election.
Alito went further in dissent, arguing the Postal Service has “broad authority to regulate the mail” and was likely within its power to enforce the rule. Thomas joined him.
For this election, though, the result is settled: states can keep using their existing mail-voting systems, and Trump’s new requirements will stay sidelined while the underlying legal fight continues.
And Trump made clear he took the defeat personally.
“The Court’s inability and unwillingness to do the right thing for our Country will go down, in a very negative way, in the annals of History,” he wrote.
