Changing hearts and minds is what saves babies and can close abortion facilities in the most pro-abortion parts of America.
As polarized as our society is, the power of prayer changes hearts and minds every day during a 40 Days for Life campaign.
Sidewalk counselors with an East Coast 40 Days for Life campaign recently found themselves engaged in conversation with the abortion facility security guard.
“There is a spiritual battle between good and evil going on,” wrote the local vigil leader. “Included in this battle is the soul of the guard.”

The conversation is bearing fruit, because the abortion center security guard is now directing clients to talk with 40 Days for Life volunteers about life-affirming alternatives to abortion!
We want to keep the security guard’s pro-life referrals coming, so we’re not going to reveal the campaign’s location…
…but God never fails to answer your prayers in new and exciting ways!
“This shows the power of prayer and how important it is to witness in front of [an abortion business],” the 40 Days for Life leader continued. “You never know how God will use your prayers!”
See how God will answer YOUR prayers by finding your nearest vigil and signing up to pray:
Walnut Creek, California

The campaign team in Walnut Creek is mourning the loss of a volunteer who prayed and witnessed for life in front of Planned Parenthood for more than three decades.
“When Ed saw a need, he filled it,” wrote Jodie, the local 40 Days for Life leader. “Especially when it was a need that allowed him to live and model his Christian faith.”
Jodie said Ed was in his mid-90s the last time she prayed with him at the 40 Days for Life vigil. He was also a dedicated servant of the poor, a father of nine, and a patriarch with around 70 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
“I need to be out here,” Ed once said of his involvement in the vigil.
Jodie hopes his spirit will live on in her volunteers.
“I hope you will join me in honoring Ed’s legacy and honoring the call that God gives to each of us,” she exhorted her team. “We are each needed out there.”
Rotterdam, the Netherlands

Petra didn’t plan to lead the local 40 Days for Life campaign.
“I just wanted to help a little bit…and then suddenly, I was campaign leader,” she recounted. “But it is OK. The Holy Spirit told me that He would lead it.”
Rotterdam’s first campaign is going well–and growing stronger every day. “A lot of young people are also coming,” Petra noted.
The 40 Days for Life presence is raising awareness of the crisis of abortion. “A lot of people don’t know that there is an abortion clinic in the big building,” Petra said.
They do now.
