Actor Eduardo Verástegui: I Won’t Support Any Politician Who is Not Fully Pro-Life

Catholic activist, actor and producer Eduardo Verástegui has declared he will not support any politician who fails to fully defend the right to life of the unborn.

His comments are emphasizing that protection of the most vulnerable must come before political loyalties.

Verástegui, known for starring in the pro-life film “Bella” and producing the anti-child-trafficking movie “Sound of Freedom,” has long been a vocal defender of unborn children. He says that his pro-life views make him care more about defending the unborn than political party, stating that his Catholic faith takes precedence over any political affinity.

He says he will not support any politician who does not “fully defend life, without exceptions.” And he called out Republicans who are not fully pro-life.

“My mission and the most important cause I have been fighting for over many years is the defense of the unborn,” he wrote. “That is why, for years, I supported the Republican Party, because, although imperfect, it has held a firmer stance in defense of the unborn child than the vision promoted by the Democratic Party.”

“But I must also tell the full truth: the Republican movement, even under the leadership of Donald Trump, is not 100% pro-life,” he said. “And today I want to be clear: I will no longer support any politician who does not fully defend life, without exceptions.”

He added, “I offer an apology to God for the times when, in trying to support ‘the cause,’ I ended up compromising on something so fundamental. Because, although no one is perfect, we can and must order our priorities… and the defense of the unborn is, for me, the number one priority.”

In powerful remarks highlighting the horror of abortion, Verástegui has previously said: “Sadly today, the most dangerous place on the planet, where most deaths take place is the belly of the mother. If a politician is not able to defend the smallest of his Country, the babies that are in the womb of a mother and run the risk of being aborted, then I wonder who they are defending?”

Pro-life leaders have praised Verástegui for refusing to compromise on the fundamental issue of abortion, even when it means distancing himself from figures or parties that may align with him on other matters. His position serves as a clear call for Catholics and all defenders of life to hold public officials accountable on the protection of innocent human life.
