Anti-ICE Rioters Violently Attack Minneapolis Hotel, ‘Where is the Local PD?’ [WATCH]

Rioters violently attacked a Minneapolis hotel Sunday night after a crowd of protesters mistakenly believed federal immigration agents were staying there, smashing windows and vandalizing the lobby as tensions boiled over following the killing of Alex Pretti.

A mob swarmed the Home2 Suites in downtown Minneapolis around 11 p.m. local time, damaging the building and spray-painting messages including “ICE OUT,” “ICE KILLS,” and “KYS [kill yourself] ICE,” according to footage captured by reporter Jorge Ventura.

“Where is the local PD?” said a federal agent who appeared to be bleeding from the face and hands while guarding an entrance to the hotel after the chaos. It was unclear how the agent, who was wearing a Bureau of Prisons uniform, was injured.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Immigration and Customs Enforcement or Customs and Border Protection personnel were actually staying at the hotel.

During the disturbance, demonstrators appeared to build makeshift barricades, bang on trash cans, blow whistles, and shout at federal agents outside the property. At least one Minneapolis police officer was seen guarding the entrance.

The Minneapolis Department of Public Safety said Minnesota state troopers and other state officers were deployed to the scene but later withdrew after federal agents intervened.

“While they collaboratively worked to encircle the group for arrests because the demonstration was not peaceful, federal agents arrived without communication and deployed chemical irritants, clearing the group. The State Patrol and DNR are no longer on scene,” the department said in a post to X.
