Grief swept across our nation yesterday, September 10, with the tragic news that Charlie Kirk—conservative activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA—was assassinated at Utah Valley University.
While speaking on his ‘The American Comeback’ tour, Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in the neck by a sniper around 12:20 p.m.. He had been sitting under his branded tent before a crowd of about 3,000 excited students and liberal protestors, preparing to answer a question about transgender shootings, when the attack occurred.
Charlie was fearless, bold, compassionate, and a strong leader. He became widely known for traveling to college campuses across the country, giving students the chance to step up to the microphone and ask him their toughest questions. With respect and conviction, he debated, answered, and challenged a generation to think deeper.

Through Turning Point USA, the nonprofit he founded, Charlie worked tirelessly to equip young people with a clear and unapologetic defense of conservative values.
Naturally, one of the questions he was asked most often was about abortion. Charlie’s unshakable Pro-Life convictions moved countless students to rethink their beliefs, leading many to turn away from the culture of death and embrace the defense of innocent Life.
Other than politics, Kirk was one of the most influential Christian apologists of this generation. Constantly bombarded by unbelievers trying to trap him, he led with compassion, boldness, and clarity.

Kirk didn’t only talk about his Pro-Life values and convictions, but he lived them out in his daily life, encouraging others to do the same.
When speaking about fatherhood and meeting his daughter for the first time, he said, “it was, without a doubt, the most transformational moment of my life.”
Charlie Kirk’s wife posted this two weeks ago on Instagram.

The impact Charlie Kirk left on Gen Z, on the American Church, and on this nation cannot be overstated. While our hearts break at the loss of this Christian brother, we cling to the promise of Psalm 34:18—“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
John Seago, president of Texas Right to Life, also reminded us of the story of David.
For those who have a heavy heart right now because of the murder in Charlotte and today’s murder of Charlie Kirk, I want to encourage you to turn to the Lord in these moments of grief. He is near to the brokenhearted.

Kirk wanted to be remembered for his faith, and that is what will endure in the hearts of so many.
“I wanna be remembered for courage for my faith. That, that would be the most important thing. The most important thing is my faith in my life,” Charlie stated on a podcast.
Charlie Kirk was a pro-life hero and loved his wife and kids.
We are lifting them up in prayer. 🙌 pic.twitter.com/33ghoLtU6l

Although Charlie Kirk is no longer with us on this earth, he is in the hands of Jesus Christ, and his legacy will never be forgotten. Join us in prayer for his wife, Erika, and their two small children.
