Kansas City Chiefs kicker and devout Catholic Harrison Butker will help relaunch the Kennedy-era Presidential Fitness Test. Butker, a champion of traditional Catholicism and family values, told Benedictine College graduates that his wife “would be the first to say that her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.” Despite criticism from secular media for his praise of motherhood (the NFL’s senior vice president of diversity and inclusion stated that Butker’s “views are not those of the NFL as an organization”), Butker was praised in Catholic media for having the courage to stand up for traditional values.
