Dick Durbin is a Radical Abortion Activist, He Doesn’t Deserve a Catholic Reward

This disturbs me, and I need your help.

Cardinal Blase Cupich of the Archdiocese of Chicago announced his intent to award Senator Dick Durbin a “Lifetime Achievement Award” for Dick’s work on immigration.

Senator Dick Durbin, who calls himself a Catholic, has served in the United States Congress since 1983. For over 40 years, Dick has not only supported abortion and worked to protect this heinous act, but he has protected Planned Parenthood and worked to enshrine abortion as a “constitutional right.” That’s more than 60,000,000 dead children, with his full support. Dick could not be further from Christ.

A man who claims to be Catholic and dedicates his life to protecting and ensuring abortion on demand is neither Catholic nor a man.

A man is called by God to protect and provide.

Through reception of the sacraments and before almighty God, a Catholic man has confirmed his commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and to fidelity to Christ. There is no gray area.

TAKE ACTION: Contact Cardinal Cupich and tell him to rescind Senator Dick Durbin’s award. Or call 312-534-8200.

Indifference to evil is acceptance of evil.

When Catholics who have been blessed by God with the opportunity to sit in seats of worldly power and influence denounce their faith through their public support of death and evil, they must be corrected and held accountable.

When they are not, babies die, mothers are harmed, families are destroyed, the culture of death strengthens its foothold in the souls of many Catholics, disorder and confusion reign, and souls are lost.

Help me do something about this.

Call the Archdiocese of Chicago at 312-534-8200 to express your sincere disapproval of Cardinal Cupich’s decision to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Senator Durbin.

You can also email Jose Coronel, the director of the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Office of Human Dignity and Solidarity, at [email protected] and respectfully express your disapproval.

There is zero equivalency between immigration and abortion. Embracing the immigrant does not mitigate the incalculable horror of one’s lust for abortion.

All things are NOT equal.

I thank Bishop Thomas Paprocki of Springfield, Illinois, who stated recently:

“I was shocked to learn that the Archdiocese of Chicago plans to honor Senator Richard Durbin with a Lifetime Achievement Award. . . . Given Senator Durbin’s long and consistent record of supporting legal abortion—including opposing legislation to protect children who survive failed abortions—this decision risks causing grave scandal, confusing the faithful about the Church’s unequivocal teaching on the sanctity of human life.

I humbly ask you to help me and take action by respectfully contacting the Diocese of Chicago to defend our faith, defend babies and mothers, and tell them that enough is enough. Your courage and action can make a difference.

Like you, I watched in horror as Charlie Kirk, a man of strength and humility, was murdered for speaking the truth. We have seen elderly Catholics beaten and injured for peacefully praying in front of abortion mills. We have seen Catholic schoolchildren shot and murdered for being Catholic.

All these terrible actions are fueled when we do nothing in the face of scandal and evil. We must defend the Catholic faith and demand that our shepherds protect the faithful from scandal and evil. And we must hold the deceivers accountable. Then and only then will we see the culture of death recede.

Prayer, courage, and action. Join me in standing against deceit and evil. Thank you for your prayers and support.
