Five Recent Pro-Life Actions From President Trump That Will Save Babies

As a projected 100,000 people came to remember and mourn the lives lost to abortion because of Roe v. Wade, the Trump Administration took strategic action in defending LIFE through a number of policy changes announced during the week of Students for Life’s National Pro-Life Summit and the 53rd national pro-life march in Washington, D.C., where Vice President J.D. Vance spoke in favor of defending pre-born children.

It was good timing. Just released, SFLA’s groundbreaking new poll shows massive support for pro-life legislation amongst Gen Z and Millennial voters.

Here’s some of what the Trump accomplished:

1. Expanding the Mexico City Policy to Stop Abortion Funding Overseas

At this year’s pro-life march, Vice President J.D. Vance announced that the White House plans to expand the “Mexico City policy,” a policy that prevents U.S. funding of foreign organizations that commit abortions.

This is a massive win for the Pro-Life Generation. Students for Life Action called on the Trump Administration in a Day One Agenda for President Donald Trump to reinstate the Mexico City Policy.

SFLA protested the Biden Administration’s decision to rescind the Mexico City policy in 2021 to allow U.S. funding of abortions abroad. At the time of Biden’s decision, 53% of Gen Z and Millennial voters did not support international funding for abortion.

This pro-life sentiment among youth remains true today. Students for Life of America’s Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement found in its 2026 poll of Gen Z and Millennial voters that less than 1 in 10 Youth Voters supported the abortion-on-demand up to infanticide ideology of the Democratic Party.

2. Reviewing Potential Fraud by Planned Parenthood

The Small Business Administration (SBA) announced they are investigating potential fraud by Planned Parenthood. SBA issued letters to 38 Planned Parenthood affiliate locations regarding their eligibility for COVID-era Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans.

The administration believes Planned Parenthood may have misrepresented their employment numbers and other information to fraudulently receive over $88 million in PPP loans during the program’s tenure.

SFLA has repeatedly called on the SBA to debar Planned Parenthood to ensure they cannot take more of our tax dollars to fund their deadly and often criminal practices.

This is not the first time Planned Parenthood has been accused of fraud. SFLA previously reported on a $1.8 billion lawsuit against Planned Parenthood for Medicaid Fraud. Both SFLA and Students for Life Action (SFLAction) fought to have Planned Parenthood lose Medicaid funding in the Big, Beautiful Budget Bill last year.

3. Enforcing Conscience Protections for Pro-Life Health Care Providers

Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) announced they are taking action to enforce the conscience rights protections of health care and insurance providers by pursuing action against states that force health care providers to commit or refer for abortions against their religious and moral values.

DHHS’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR) has several rules protecting medical and insurance providers from being discriminated against based on their conscience and religious values in receiving federal funding.

SFLAction has long fought the radical, pro-death agenda of Illinois. Students and staff have rallied against Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s efforts to target pro-life pregnancy centersrequire health insurance policies to cover abortion, ignore FDA recommendations in favor of extreme pro-abortion ideas of the World Health Organization, and mandate abortion pills on college campuses.

Pritzker founded an organization dedicated to expanding the genocide of preborn children.

The DHHS’s actions included a Notice of Violation to Illinois, a Dear Colleague Letter explaining conscience protections, and three public notices about the Biden Administration’s previous actions trying to evade these protections to push abortion.

4. Banning Human Fetal Tissue Use in Government-Funded Experiments

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) released a public notice announcing their intent to reduce or altogether end their funding of scientific research that uses human fetal tissue. These studies often use the remains of aborted babies, from which abortion vendors make a heavy profit. The NIH is exploring new ways to conduct biomedical research that does not use the bodies of slaughtered preborn babies.

For years, Students for Life of America (SFLA) has exposed Planned Parenthood for profiting from selling aborted preborn children’s bodies to be violated in scientific studies.

Students for Life Action (SFLAction) called for the end of the practice after SFLAction students protested the use of babies in taxpayer-funded studies at the University of Pittsburgh.

The pro-life movement must push for this to be a permanent ban by the federal government. The NIH is accepting public comments on the issue through April 24, 2026 — make your voice heard here.

5. Withdrawing the U.S. from the World Health Organization

The United States is officially withdrawn from the World Health Organization (WHO). President Donald Trump announced his plan to withdraw the U.S. from WHO back in January 2025.

The President decided on the withdrawal “due to the organization’s mishandling of the COVID-19 pandemic that arose out of Wuhan, China, its failure to adopt urgently needed reforms, and its inability to demonstrate independence from the inappropriate political influence of WHO member states,” according to the DHHS press release.

SFLAction has spoken out about the life-threatening policies of WHO, including their dangerous guidance to self-manage chemical abortion pills that cause 1 in 10 women who take them to have serious medical complications.

WHO lists abortion as an “essential health care” service with aims to expand abortion globally, even cosponsoring a group that’s sole purpose is to push abortion into more communities.

Before Trump’s withdrawal, the U.S. was the largest financial contributor to the World Health Organization.

These are massive victories for the pro-life movement. But our work does not stop there.

From keeping our water clean to defending free speech at the Supreme Court, Students for Life of America is committed to doing all we can to protect preborn children, their families, and all life from the death culture of the Abortion Lobby.
