GOP Representative Tom Emmer of Minnesota has called for the denaturalization and deportation of the Somalis involved in federal welfare and other fraud in Minnesota, a sharp departure from his earlier position on the African invaders, whom he said would assimilate as quickly as Europeans.

Emmer also demanded that far-left Governor Tim Walz, whom President Trump has labeled “retarded,” explain what steps he has taken to combat the massive Somali fraud schemes.

Emmer’s apparent fury about the Third World fraudsters is a far cry from his earlier opinion about them. In 2015, when real Minnesotans complained about Somalis being dumped into cities such as St. Cloud, Emmer poo-poohed their concerns. Angry Land-O-Lakers laughed at Emmer when he said Somalis would assimilate in a similar manner to Poles and Germans.

“Three Words”

After independent journalist Nick Shirley uncovered a massive daycare fraud scheme, Emmer took to X to say it’s time that Somalis fraudsters were sent packing.

“I’m calling for the denaturalization and deportation of every Somali engaged in fraud in Minnesota.”

“I have three words regarding Somalis who have committed fraud against American taxpayers,” Emmer began:

Send them home. If they’re here illegally, deport them immediately; if they’re naturalized citizens, revoke their citizenship and deport them quickly thereafter. If we need to change the law to do that, I will. Our nation will not tolerate those who take advantage of our charity and refuse to assimilate into our culture. Additionally, if any naturalized Somalis had undisclosed ties to terrorist organizations like Al-Shabaab, I want to see their citizenship revoked and their a**es sent back immediately. Same goes for anyone who is found to have committed marriage fraud during the immigration process.

The Fraud

On X, Shirley claimed to have found more than $110,000,000 in daycare fraud in one day. He even found a daycare center that didn’t have any kids on the premises.

As well, a federal prosecutor told CBS News that his office has uncovered “industrial-scale” fraud, and that Somali crooks have robbed the taxpayers of $18 billion since 2018.

Emmer’s letter to Walz also cited another fraud scheme that Shirley uncovered.

The journalist “found one building in Minneapolis that has 14 Somali-owned home healthcare businesses at [the] same address, and another building in St. Paul with 22 home healthcare businesses at the same address,” Emmer wrote:

Yet, none of the businesses could provide Shirley with a rate, despite funneling between $50 million to $60 million through one of the buildings per year. Shirley was later escorted out of the building for asking for rates. This is despicable.

As Shirley reported, these centers are receiving public funds, including state and federal money through the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). This is especially concerning given CCAP fraud isn’t unfamiliar to Minnesota. Following reports of approximately $100 million in fraud through the CCAP in 2018, the State of Minnesota conducted a review and concluded that they could not provide a reliable estimate of how much fraud existed in the program at the time.

Emmer asked Walz — who was furious that Trump’s calling him “seriously retarded” invited others to shout the “R” word at him — what he and his administration will do about the fraud, including revoking licenses of the “daycare” centers. The representative also asked Walz whether he would resign.

The Center for Immigration Studies recently reported that the vast majority of Somalis in Minnesota collect some form of welfare.

They’ll Be Great Americans!

Responding to Emmer’s call for deporting the Somalis, which included a claim that the fraudsters “refuse to assimilate to our culture,” X user Paul disinterred audio of Emmer’s hearing complaints about the Third World invaders from rank-and-file Minnesotans.

“Emmer basically told the citizens of St. Cloud that they have to take as many Somalis as they say whether they like it or not because ‘America,’” Paul wrote of the town hall in 2015:

He calls them the fastest assimilating immigrant group, and says they are just like the Germans. A few weeks after this he founded the Somali Caucus in the house of representatives.

What people don’t understand is Minnesotans did fight this and they were told to “shut up and sit down” by the Mn GOP.

The audio, from a town hall and narrated as a This American Life broadcast, is clear. Emmer would do nothing to stop the Somali invasion.

“We did not ask for those Somalis,” one man told Emmer:

We did not ask for those Somalis. Nobody asked us if we, in St. Cloud, want those Somalis. And we understand that social groups, like the Lutheran social service and the Catholic charities, they’re dumping them in areas like St. Cloud. OK, and so the question is, how many more are coming? We didn’t ask for these people. Everybody that you read about is talking about this. So that is a main issue in this city. There is no control. The people have no control over any immigration. The mayor doesn’t. I don’t know.

Replied Emmer, “and if you’re asking me how I feel about immigrant populations who are in this country legally, and who are actually trying to find a better way for themselves and their families, I support it wholeheartedly. I mean, the Germans had the same problem when they came over. The Polish had the problem. The Chinese had the problem.”

Man: They did it on their own, though.

Another Man: We have a different problem. They didn’t come to subvert the Constitution.

Man: You’re not addressing the idea that they’re not being assimilated.…

Emmer: I’m going to tell you, the Somalis, according to the measurements that have been used over time, are some of the fastest-assimilating populations that we’ve had.

The crowd groaned.

Man: Oh, you gotta be kidding me.

Emmer eventually told the crowd they would accept the Somalis and like it.

“I’m going to say it out loud,” he said:

When you move to a community, as long as you are here legally, I am very sorry but you don’t get to slam the gate behind you and tell nobody else that they’re welcome. That’s not the way this country works.

When constituents said they wanted an immigration moratorium, not just for St. Cloud but “for the whole United States,” Emmer said the Constitution would not permit it.
