In response to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries calling for Republicans to help Democrats continue the Obama-Biden legacy of taxpayer-funded abortion by passing a three-year extension of Obamacare subsidies, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America will negatively score signatures on the Democrats’ discharge petition – as well as on any future petitions that fail to include Hyde Amendment protections, the group said in a letter sent to the Hill.

The letter reads in part:
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America strongly opposes and will score against this discharge petition and any future discharge petitions on health care legislation that includes abortion coverage and does not apply Hyde protections.
Pro-abortion Democrats in Congress held the government hostage for over a month in pursuit of continued taxpayer funding of abortion coverage through Obamacare, resulting in the longest government shutdown in American history.
SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser made the following statement:
“Republicans stood strong through the Schumer Shutdown and must keep resisting Democrats’ demands to fund abortions, including demands to sign discharge petitions to force a vote on funding abortion coverage. SBA Pro-Life America will negatively score any co-signatures on the Democrats’ current petition or any possible future Obamacare petitions that do not include Hyde protections. Republicans must continue to send the Democratic minority a strong message that their attacks on vulnerable unborn babies and mothers are a nonstarter.”
SBA Pro-Life America opposes any funding of Obamacare that fails to include Hyde Amendment protections and will continue to score against any effort that forces Americans to pay for abortions or abortion coverage. In October, more than 100 pro-life groups sent a letter to Congress urging lawmakers to stop taxpayer funding of abortion through Obamacare.
