IF WE ONLY KNEW THEN … Old Walz Debate Clip on Childcare Goes Viral in Wake of Fraud Mess [WATCH]

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is getting torched online after resurfaced debate footage shows him bragging about making it easier to get into the child-care business, just as his state is rocked by massive fraud allegations tied to day-care aid programs.

During last year’s vice-presidential debate with JD Vance, Walz proudly declared, “We have to make it easier for folks to be able to get into [the child care] business… We were able to do it in Minnesota.”

It’s the clip critics say didn’t age well — and it’s now blowing up.

The video resurfaced after independent journalist Nick Shirley’s mega-viral exposé showing Minnesota childcare and learning centers allegedly taking millions in aid while appearing shuttered or empty — including one center with a misspelled sign that reportedly pulled in $4 million despite no kids inside.

The FBI has now jumped in. Director Kash Patel warned the claims are “just the tip of a very large iceberg,” saying convicted scammers could face denaturalization and deportation. The message was clear: the feds are circling.

Online critics pounced on Walz’s old comments.

“Yes Tim, you sure did make it easy,” one person wrote. “They don’t even need to provide childcare to get paid.” Another added, “Walz was saying the quiet part out loud… If we only knew then what we know now.”

The alleged schemes stretch back years — from day-care overbilling cases tied to Minnesota’s Child Care Assistance Program to more recent Medicaid-funded disability scams involving housing services.
