Israel says IRGC intelligence chief Majid Khademi killed in strike, senior Quds commander reportedly eliminated

Israel says it has taken out one of Iran’s most senior intelligence figures in a precision strike, marking a major development in its ongoing campaign against Tehran’s security apparatus.

The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that Brig. Gen. Majid Khademi, described as a top intelligence leader within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in the operation.

“Khademi wasn’t just any figure,” a senior Israeli official told Fox News. “He was effectively No. 2 within the IRGC… one of the few senior commanders who managed to survive multiple waves of Israeli and American targeting over the past year — until now.”

According to the official, Khademi oversaw an intelligence network tied to overseas operations and internal surveillance inside Iran, including efforts to monitor dissent and suppress protests.

The same official claimed Khademi played a role in attempts to penetrate U.S. systems and coordinated with Russian counterparts — allegations that could not be independently verified.

Israel also says the strike may have killed another high-value target.

Asghar Bagheri, identified as a senior commander within the IRGC’s Quds Force, was reportedly eliminated in the same operation. The IDF has not formally confirmed his death.

Bagheri was involved in recruiting operatives across the Middle East and orchestrating attacks against American forces in Iraq and Syria, including operations tied to U.S. casualties.

The dual hit represents a significant disruption to Iran’s external operations wing, which has long been accused by Washington of backing proxy attacks across the region.

Khademi, a longtime intelligence operative, spent decades rising through Iran’s security ranks, specializing in counter-espionage and foreign intelligence.
