J. B. Pritzker is One of the Most Radical Pro-Abortion Democrats

Lemme see. You have a colossal jump in the number of abortions in a given state—say Illinois or Massachusetts (which we’ll talk about tomorrow) —and reporters act as if the explanation is inscrutable. Or maybe so welcomed by the chattering class, they needn’t probe for any deeper meaning.

For instance, Illinois’ Gov. J. B. Pritzker, the high priest of gubernatorial enablers, has been on a crusade since the took office in 2019. He has signed laws “to protect out-of-state abortion seekers”; required colleges to provide abortion pills; required Illinois health insurance plans to cover abortion without copays or deductibles; and has made the state a “haven for abortion access in the Midwest.”

More specifically, in 2019, Pritzker signed the Reproductive Health Act, which repealed what prior restrictions there remained on abortions.

In 2021 he signed a bill repealing parental notification when a minor daughter is seeking an abortion.

But that’s just the beginning!

In 2023 he signed a “shield law” which “bars state and local authorities from providing any information or resources to help any out-of-state entity from investigating health care legally provided in Illinois, including abortion and gender-affirming care.”

And he has aggressively recruited help from businesses to create a public/private “partnership.” Reporting for Live Action News, Cassy Cooke writes

In a January press release, Pritzker announced a new initiative– The Prairie State Access Fund–which will partner with the Michael Reese Health Trust to strengthen the abortion “ecosystem” across Illinois.

According to Capitol News Illinois, the Michael Reese Health Trust will manage the fund, which will partner with abortion organizations like Planned Parenthood, the Red Tent Fund, and the Chicago Abortion Fund (CAF).

“Illinois providers and CAF are playing an outsized role in the national abortion landscape, and sustaining that role requires flexible, additive support,” Megan Jeyifo, Executive Director of the Chicago Abortion Fund, said. “The Prairie State Access Fund strengthens a constellation of care that has been meeting this moment for years and reinforces the networks patients rely on to access abortion with dignity and compassion.”

An update on that. On March 27, Chicago Business wrote, “Four abortion and reproductive health organizations will share in the first $1 million in grant money by the Prairie State Access Fund.”

Pritzker is busy trying to spread the abortion cancer nationwide. A multi-billionaire [he is currently worth in the neighborhood of $3.7 billion], in 2024 Pritzker poured in over half a million dollars to push his extreme agenda of making abortion legal through all nine months in the South Dakota State Constitution. Fortunately, he was unsuccessful.

I could go on, but I’ll end with this awful statistic. Of all the abortions performed in Illinois in 2024, 35,000 (39%) were provided to out-of-state patients. That also meant the state provided almost a quarter of out-of-state abortions in the entire U.S. in 2024!

It certainly makes sense, doesn’t it, that after signing the 2019 Reproductive Healthcare Act into law, he would tweet in a rush of solidarity

I look forward (to) continuing my work as an ally.

Or, as pro-abortion Democratic state Rep. Kelly Cassidy said, “We are building a firewall around Illinois to protect access to reproductive healthcare for everyone.”

P.S. And, as you would anticipate, last December, Pritzker signed a bill that legalized assisted suicide!
