JOE & O ON THE OUTS! Biden and Barry’s Relationship In Shambles Post-Election: ABC Reporter

Can’t hide the hate.

ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl says former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden aren’t simply strained — they’re “really bad.”

Karl told Katie Couric on her podcast last week that an awkward, very public moment in Washington, D.C., revealed the depth of the rift.

Obama and Biden were both at the elite Café Milano last month, close enough that their security details had to shuffle around each other — yet the two men never spoke, never waved, never acknowledged each other.

“They didn’t interact at all, they were in the same restaurant?” Couric asked, stunned. “What’s their relationship like?”

“Really bad. Really bad,” Karl said. “Biden and the people around him very much blame Barack Obama for the effort to push Biden out of the campaign.”

Karl is promoting his new book, Retribution, a behind-the-scenes tell-all on the historic 2024 election, and pulled no punches describing the Democratic civil war.

He recalled another sore spot: Hunter Biden furious after watching Obama take his father by the arm and guide him offstage at a fundraiser last summer, a moment that made then-President Biden appear weak at a time when party insiders were desperately insisting he was still viable.

“It’s not a good relationship. If they had wanted to see each other, they absolutely would have,” Karl said of the Café Milano freeze-out, a scene first reported by Politico.

And the bitterness didn’t end there. Karl said Biden — like Kamala Harris — had to make a flurry of phone calls to secure support for Harris after he surrendered the nomination last year.
