Now to close this busy week, here’s a note you might find an encouraging sign for the battle that lies ahead. My good friends at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America just announced they’re committing $80 million to the 2026 election cycle. Marjorie Dannenfelser, SBA’s longtime leader, says the plan is focused on retaining pro-life majorities in both the House and Senate.
I’ve been pleased to partner with Marjorie over the years. She knows that the protection of human life in the womb isn’t just a debate topic. If you want to win the debate, you must win the votes in committee and on the floor, and to win those you have to win elections. SBA is targeting key states, including North Carolina, Michigan, Iowa and Georgia, which have both key U.S. Senate and House races.
Their goal is to reach 10.5 million voters across the country with digital mail and an early voter campaign as the election approaches. They will employ their long-time, proven strategy of student canvassing, aiming to total 4.5 million personal visits to low-propensity voters in these states.

Obviously, federal races are SBA’s focus. SBA is based here in the national capital area and experience has shown how key Washington is even in the wake of Dobbs. The phraseology around that ruling suggests the abortion issue has been returned to the states. But the Court’s ruling actually said that policies on this question should be decided by the elected representatives of the people.
That includes the U.S. Congress. SBA and its Women Speak Out Political Action Committee get this, God bless them. Their timing couldn’t be better. The sum they’re committing – and they’d welcome help – may be the largest expenditure next year by any conservative outside group.
I’ve been pounding the table on this and I don’t mean to wear you out. But for those Christians tempted by one issue or another during these Trump years the temptation to put the Democrats back in power in Congress has to be resisted.
The Republicans make uneven progress on many of the things we care about. There is no such doubt about the Democrats. They offer misery and they will deliver it. They can wax eloquent like Hubert Humphrey back in the 1960s about how they care for people in the “dawn” and the “twilight” of life. They can engrave it, as they have, on the wall of the federal Health and Human Services building in downtown D.C.
But once in power, they serve the same radical buffet. They promise low-cost, accessible health care for everyone. What an irony! The mammoth costs, delays in care, the bureaucracies that plague physicians and nurses, the blocking of conservative alternatives are what they deliver. Voting for more of that is itself a huge mistake.
What the Democrats promise is an illusion – what they give is certain. It’s abortion on demand, up to birth, paid for with your tax dollars. It’s gender ideology – puberty blockers, body-destroying (they have the nerve to call these acts “gender-affirming”) surgeries, and secret sex changes carried out at public schools behind parents’ backs.
The transgender issue is said to be an 80-20 issue for our side. Here and there a Democratic politician will whisper second thoughts about boys invading girls’ school bathrooms and exposing themselves in locker rooms. The Democrat might express reservations about a 6’4”, 280-pound male weightlifter capturing medals from female competitors.
Believe me, this is all show. The Democrat Party as 2025 comes to a close is devoid of pro-life and pro-family voices. They’ve all been driven into the sea. The party embraces every aspect of the sexual revolution, and they know if the ideology behind transgenderism is defeated – that there really is such a thing as men and women, and they are different – their entire revolution falls.
Of course, they will offer well-meaning people – especially Christians – what looks like an olive branch. But that branch is full of the fruit of the poisonous tree.
Consider my home state of Virginia, where even after mortal threats from their candidate for Attorney General against his Republican opponents, the Democrats swept to power in the governorship and state legislature. Their biggest goal (beyond celebrating transgenderism): a state constitutional amendment that will install unfettered abortion in one of the most venerated constitutions in our nation and the world.
The symbolism couldn’t be starker. Most of you who read this can quote Thomas Jefferson’s words in the Declaration by heart:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Life is first, of course. Without it, no liberty or pursuit of happiness is possible.
If the Democrats prevail next year, all the while singing sweetly about how they want to feed babies and heal the sick, the toll is already clear. They will make quick work of your religious liberty. They will appoint judges and pack the courts to make their schemes irreversible. They will look for even more ways to push gender ideology down the throats of our children and cancel anyone – parent or teacher or gym user – who resists.
Put them back in office in Washington, D.C., and they will reopen our borders. Criminals and terrorists will have free run. They will install abortion on demand as national policy, tear down the Hyde Amendment and other limits won over the course of decades, and they will make life miserable for anyone involved in pregnancy center work designed to really aid moms and babies.
My thoughts today center around the good news from Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. I will never say we’ve reached our last chance to make a difference and to secure once more a country devoted to faith, family and freedom.
But it’s late in the day. We lose a million lives to abortion every year. Only a smattering of children are being born. A major party stands foursquare for abolishing even the idea that a man and a woman can be distinguished, much less that marriage is the union of one of each.
All of this is on the ballot in 2026, my friends. Last chance or merely a late one, we don’t dare grow faint. Be in prayer, be in the fight, and never – never – lose heart.
